Our HCS Career & Technical Education team kicked off the year with a sports-themed PD focused on teamwork, strategy, preparation, and winning for our students.

We may have dressed like referees, but make no mistake, we’re here to coach, lead, inspire, and equip…

We left this with our teachers- “For every whistle this year represents another opportunity to change a student’s life. Every lesson is another play. Every certification is another touchdown. Every graduate is another championship… The field is waiting!” 🏆🏈🏀🏐🎾⚽️🎓

Today, we welcomed our LHS and GSFHS students to the Horry County Schools, Horry-Georgetown Technical College, and McLeod Health CNA Program Orientation! 🩺
We are grateful for this partnership and the opportunity it provides for our students to earn their CNA credentials while preparing for meaningful careers in healthcare. Can’t wait to see what this amazing group accomplishes!

HCS CTE Welcomes our new Work Based Learning Specialist, Kirkley Collier!

Her journey has been shaped by five years as a Special Education teacher, where she developed a passion for empowering students, fostering independence, and creating opportunities for every learner to succeed. Prior to her career in education, she proudly served in the United States Air Force, an experience that instilled in her the values of leadership, service, teamwork, and perseverance that continue to guide her today.

She is incredibly grateful for the experiences and mentors who have supported her along the way and looks forward to collaborating with the outstanding students, families, educators, and community partners in Horry County. She is excited to begin this new chapter and make a positive impact alongside the Horry County community.

Thoroughly enjoyed our Entrepreneurship students present their Shark Tank-style final pitches at AAST!

Our students showcased original startup ideas with creativity, confidence, and professionalism while pitching to a panel of “Shark” investors. It was inspiring to see them apply real-world business concepts, innovation, financial literacy, and public speaking skills in such an engaging way!
