Please be aware of these important changes in parking on campus for events happening this week.

Parking attendants will be in place to monitor reserved lots and you must have an event parking pass or be part of the events taking place to access these lots.

Starting September 1, 2025, South Carolina’s new Hands-Free and Distracted Driving Law goes into effect. Let’s work together to keep our campus and community safe!

🚗📵 What You Need to Know:
• No holding phones while driving
• No texting, emailing, or app use unless hands-free
• Hands-free devices (Bluetooth, dashboard mounts) are allowed
• Emergency use and official duties (e.g., law enforcement) are exempt

🗓️ Enforcement Timeline:
• Sept. 1, 2025 – Feb. 28, 2026: Warning period only
• After Feb. 28, 2026: Fines and license points will apply
