Add emergency preparedness to your hiking skillset with GMC’s fall Wilderness First Aid Certification Course! This 16-hour course will be led by SOLO Wilderness Medical School at GMC headquarters in Waterbury Center on Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3.

Paul Beliveau is a GMC Burlington Section volunteer and the Maple Ridge Trail Adopter and took the course in August. “I've neither been badly injured in the woods nor come across another individual who needed major medical assistance or rescue. The WFA course is still useful, however, because it has made me think more about what I bring with me when hiking, and it has given me some confidence about managing a medical emergency.”

Learn and practice how to prevent, recognize, and treat injuries and illnesses in the backcountry. CPR certification and Wilderness First Responder recertification are also available.
