The One Pill Can Kill initiative is a college-focused program to raise awareness of the danger of fentanyl. The Office of Attorney General Tim Griffin supplies Fentanyl Harm Prevention kits to campuses that roll out the initiative. Each kit contains a fentanyl test strip, a pair of gloves for safety, a safe drug disposal bag, and a pill identification card that identifies whether the drug is legitimate.

The “One Pill Can Kill” campaign is important because Fentanyl is being mixed with other drugs, as illegal distributors make the pills, the fentanyl is oftentimes dispersed unevenly, and some or all of the pills will have a deadly dose. Laboratory testing indicates 7 out of every 10 pills seized by the DEA contain a potentially lethal dose of fentanyl.
