The Call Me MISTER Program is an initative to recruit and train a more diverse group of educators in

The purpose of the program is to assist with the reruitment, training, and certification of elementary teachers who are planning to teach in South Carolina schools, especially in the lowest performing elementary schools. The program seeks to build a more diverse group of educators by providing academic, social, and financial support to individuals interested in entering the teaching profession.

This summer, our Coastal Carolina University MiSTERs had the opportunity to participate in the Call Me MiSTER Summer Internship: Camp iRock (CMMSI26) at Clemson University.

Through this experience, our MiSTERs worked alongside educators, mentored students, and created meaningful learning experiences focused on literacy, character development, and student confidence. Camp iRock allowed them to grow as future educators while making a positive impact on the students they served.

We are proud of our MiSTERs for continuing to lead through service, mentorship, and education!

Mr. Green is a recent graduate of Coastal Carolina University, where he earned his master's degree. Originally from Columbia, South Carolina, he recently relocated from Myrtle Beach to Moncks Corner to begin his teaching career.

Mr. Green is passionate about shaping young minds, bringing history to life, and creating a classroom where every student feels safe, supported, and valued. He is excited to meet his students, build meaningful relationships, collaborate with his new colleagues, and be a positive African American male role model in the Berkeley community.
