We've extended the deadline! Submissions for the Native Voices Anthology from the Wassamasaw Tribe of Varnertown Indians to August 30. Our Press student team can't wait to get to learn from your phenomenal submissions while we produce this anthology. Submisssions will be considered on a rolling basis.
Last week, we were able to start some prototyping of interpretation in the Sandy Island School. Joyner Institute for Gullah and African Diaspora Studies director Zenobia Harper and our director Alli Crandell worked with community members Carolyn Pyatt and Beulah Pyatt to hang photos on both billboards and on the walls. Thanks to our amazing print team here at CCU, we were able to package and get out all 400 author copies of the Literary Field Guide to the Swamp via project lead Amber Bacon (design: Kendall Boykin, editor: Savannah Turgal, authors: 200+ middle schoolers, construction: Raja Hyder). We can't wait to see the students unbox them at St. James Middle School. 📚 🎊
