CCU English

Last Thursday the Kimbel Library hosted the 2026 Celebration of Scholarship: a university-wide event where faculty are invited to share their research and creative work from the previous year.

DCD and English's very own Dr Laiola presented a talk about Instagram, Instapoetry, and other new new literary forms that are growing out of the platform.  This is based on research she published last year in the Electronic Book Review.

Thanks to all who shared their research, the those who came to see the presentations and posters!

Join us in congratulating Lisa Graves, a lecturer in the English department, who has recently released her 11th book! Her new book, "The Sorting," is the first in her new Compass Chronicles Series which follows Jayra through a developing rebellion and budding romance as she fights for her right to choose her place in the world. Congratulations, Lisa!

Please join us in welcoming new faculty members to the Edwards College. 👋 We have individuals coming from around the country, and the world, for the Fall 2026 semester. We look forward to what each highly accomplished scholar and creative will bring to our campus, studios, and classrooms.
