As part of a Skills USA-sponsored event, our students visited the East Wake Community College campus to participate in a hands-on construction/heavy equipment event, exploring various career paths in construction. Brenda Moore, Ella Barfield, and Sharia Joyner deserve recognition for making this trip a success for our students.

Our Northampton County High School SkillsUSA Chapter, led by advisor Mrs. Sharia Joyner, joined the annual SkillsUSA North Carolina Pumpkin Decorating Contest — and we had an amazing time showing off our SkillsUSA pride! ❤️🤍💙

This statewide fall tradition challenges chapters to carve, decorate, or create a pumpkin (or pumpkin-like item) that represents the heart of SkillsUSA — leadership, teamwork, and skill in action.

Our chapter came together with creativity, dedication, and teamwork to design a pumpkin that truly reflects what it means to be “Champions at Work.” From the planning and sketching to the final touches, every student played a role in bringing our SkillsUSA spirit to life!

We’re so proud of our team’s effort and can’t wait to see the other creative pumpkins from SkillsUSA chapters across North Carolina. A huge thank-you to Mrs. Joyner for her leadership and encouragement — and to our amazing students for their teamwork and creativity! 💪🎃

Our honors level Early Childhood Education students started their internship at Squire, applying the knowledge and skills gained from their curriculum to teach Pre-K students, and potentially earning a NC Early Childhood and First Aid/CPR certification.
