WES Academic Achievement Rated GOOD for the 4th Year in a Row!

School report cards are out, and Waccamaw Elementary earned an Average rating overall. The SC Department of Education issues school report cards, and the results reflect our students' academic achievement and the school’s environment. While serving a high-need community with a poverty index of 73.6%, significantly higher than both the district and the state, Waccamaw Elementary excels at guiding every student toward the standards of the Profile of the SC Graduate.

A rating of Average indicates that our school’s performance meets the criteria to ensure all students meet the Profile of the SC Graduate. A big factor in our rating is our consistency in student academic achievement scores, a rating of GOOD for 4 years in a row.

WES Celebrations:
• Academic achievement rated GOOD for the 4th year in a row
• Surpassed the state in the number of students scoring Meets and Exceeds on SC Ready ELA and Math
• Exceeded HCS and state average in % of multi-lingual learners meeting their individual targets of growth
• Reached a 3-year high with students achieving English language proficiency
• Achieved a 4-point increase in students achieving their Added Value Target for a 3-year high
