✊🏾 On June 19, 1865—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation—Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas, and declared the freedom of over 250,000 enslaved Black Americans. This day became known as , a time for reflection on the history of slavery, the ongoing struggle for racial justice, and the importance of celebrating freedom and family.
🖤 In observance of the Juneteenth federal holiday, Hendrix College will be closed on Thursday, June 19.

Hendrix College and the Clinton School of Public Service have announced a new partnership to prepare Hendrix students for careers as public service leaders.
Under the agreement, Hendrix students and alumni with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher are guaranteed admission into the Clinton School’s Master of Public Service program and will receive a minimum of half-tuition scholarships.
The new program will open to Hendrix students applying to the Clinton School’s Master of Public Service program beginning with the 2025-2026 academic year. More about the new partnership: www.hendrix.edu/clinton-school-partnership-2024

Hendrix College welcomes Dr. Donna M. Eddleman as its new Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students! Eddleman was selected following a national search led by Academic Search, Inc., working with a campus committee including faculty, staff, alumni, and students. She will begin her new role on July 15.
