Homework Habits: Back-to-School Reading Edition ✈️

With the new school year around the corner, here are five reading skills worth practicing at home before that first bell rings.

THIS is why we use sensory play + visual supports in speech therapy! 🌊🗣️

1️⃣ Sensory activity kept her attention and her nervous system regulated.
2️⃣ The visuals supports sat right next to us, providing low-pressure visual support for core words (MORE,STOP, HELP).
3️⃣ Modeling descriptive phrases: “The lobster jumped in the water!”

And then... the absolute magic happened! She took that exact pattern, applied it to a new toy, and produced her own complex phrase: “The octopus jumped in the water!”🐙💥
