I’ve been waiting SO long to show you this. 🥹

Here is the cover of my new book.

Seeing it like this feels a little surreal.

There were so many moments while making this book when I wondered if I was actually going to pull it all together. There were countless paintings, revisions, late nights, messy desks, notes everywhere, and a LOT of second-guessing.

But eventually those little pieces became this.

The Ultimate Beginner’s Guide to Acrylic Painting 🎨

I wrote this book for the person who wants to paint but doesn’t know where to start.

For the person who has bought the supplies and then stared at a blank canvas.

For the person who follows painting tutorials but still thinks, “Okay… but how do I actually DO this?”

I wanted to make the book I wish I had when I was learning. I wanted to go beyond just tell you what to paint and actually teach you how to see, understand, and enjoy painting.

There are 20 step-by-step projects, foundational techniques, exercises, painting prompts, templates, and so many little things I’ve learned along the way.

And now it has a COVER. 😭

I genuinely cannot wait to put this book into your hands.

Thank you for being here for all the paintings, experiments, terrible ideas, good ideas, and everything in between. You’ve been a part of this journey in more ways than you probably realize.

It’s that time again! Paint-tober is around the corner and I am so excited about this prompt list. I had a lot of fun putting it together.

A few tips (not strict rules) to think about while you get ready for October!

🎨 So we can connect and see what everyone is making, including the hashtag in your post. This makes it easier for me to find your work.

🎨 I’ll be keeping an eye out for your artwork on the daily and will share some work in my own stories and repost as many as I can. Tag me in your posts so I can find your masterpieces more easily.

🎨 Commenting and sharing each other’s work helps us all grow and get seen on this platform, plus it feels good when we boost each other up!

🎨VERY IMPORTANT: Don’t make this stressful and keep it fun! Participate in the whole thing, or don’t. Put out a little scribble if that’s all the time you have. If you skip a few, totally acceptable. The point of daily art-making is to just flex your creative muscles and hopefully push yourself through a few creative blocks along the way.

I think it’s time to let these paintings out into the world.

Some of these have been sitting in my studio for months (or, honestly, much longer) and others are brand new.

A few of them might look familiar if you’ve followed my work for a while as they were featured in my first book! Some are from my new book that hasn’t even been released yet 😉

I took my shop down before my baby was born, and for a while, painting and creating looked a little different around here. But I’m finally feeling ready to open that little door again.

So… the shop is officially back open.

These are the first few paintings I’m releasing, and there are more coming soon. If you’ve had your eye on one of my originals, this is your chance to bring one home.

They’re all available now at the link in my bio.

Working on ACEO studies while trying some new techniques for my new book.

One of the sections covers abstract painting. Since abstract is not my specialty, painting dozens of tiny studies is how I build fluency.

Working small gives me room to experiment with techniques outside my comfort zone. Just quiet practice.

I think a lot of us artists struggle with beliefs that we’re not good enough or like we suck at what we love.

We need to reframe. Being an artist isn’t a title to earn, it’s something you simply are.

The most underrated step in painting with tape! Paint over the edges with your background color so it stops the color from bleeding underneath!
