Congratulations to Owen Plourde and Raphaela De Marchi Padovanis, students at McCullough Junior High, Conroe ISD, for receiving the 2020 1st Place National Winner on their ExploraVision project! The ExploraVision competition for K-12 students engages the next generation in real world problem solving with a strong emphasis on STEM. ExploraVision challenges students envision and communicate new technology 20 years in the future through collaborative brainstorming and research of current science and technology. Their project placed 1st in the 7th-9th grade category and was selected from over 5,000 entries.

Congratulations to our 2019-2020 Humanitarion of the Year recipients! A campuses Humanitarian of the Year is a full-time or part-time staff member who has made a significant impact at their school. The winner is chosen by their peers, much like the Teacher of the Year award winners.

A campus’ Rising Star is an educator who has been at the school for zero to three years and has shown that they are making a mark on the students and contributing to the culture of the campus. Each Rising Star is selected by their principal for recognition.

Conroe ISD will be distributing free meals to students on Tuesday, May 5, and Thursday, May 7. Students may pick up meals from 10 AM - 1 PM or as long as they last. Meals will be distributed curbside at the front of Austin Elementary, Caney Creek High School, Conroe High School, Grand Oaks High School, Hauke High School, Knox Junior High, Oak Ridge High School, The Woodlands College Park High School, The Woodlands High School, and Washington Junior High.

Our Child Nutrition, Conroe ISD Department is challenging everyone to bring a card or a sign to your food distribution sites this week to say "Thank You" to our Conroe ISD School Lunch Heroes!

There have been many changes in everyone's lives over the last few weeks and months. But, YOUR cafeteria ladies and food dudes have still been working and have still been feeding students. Students who need a meal for breakfast and lunch. Let's share some love and appreciation to THEM for working on the front lines in OUR schools to make sure thousands of meals are prepared and ready for distribution every Tuesday and Thursday. So, my challenge to EVERYONE is to bring a card or a sign to your distribution site this week for OUR "School Lunch Heroes!" It can be a simple thank you card, or you can draw your favorite picture, or even print one of the attached to give to the School Lunch Hero in your life. School Lunch Hero Day is Friday, May 1, 2020, so there is no better time and there is no better way to share your appreciation for all of their hard work and dedication. We can't wait to serve you all again in our school cafeterias, but until then we will serve you from the curb. ❤️

The Conroe ISD Police Department participated in the Red and Blue Parade with other Montgomery County Law Enforcement, Fire Service, and EMS personnel to honor those in the medical profession for their tireless and professional service to our community. The parade of emergency vehicles visited seven local hospitals as a salute to healthcare workers who have stepped into harm’s way to protect our community during this pandemic.
