Senior Spotlight: Brooklyn Matthews' favorite verse is 2 Cor. 12:19, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me." Brooklyn's extracurricular activities have included Key Club, National Honor Society, and playing volleyball and basketball. She was awarded the Presidential Scholarship by Austin College where she recently signed to play basketball. Among other achievements, this year she scored her one thousandth point during her high school career. Senior Spotlight: Jaelynd Edwards’ favorite verse is Psalm 23:4, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Jaelynd's extracurricular activities have included National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Science Extravaganza, as well as Varsity Basketball, Cheer, and Track. She was inducted into the National Society of High School Scholars and recognized for Academic Excellence by TAPPS-2A, All-District. She received the Congress of Future Medical Leaders Award of Excellence and the Miss Texas High School America Pageant's Director's Award. She plans to attend Southeastern University in the fall. Senior Spotlight: Nathan Casey's favorite verse is Micah 6:8, "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" During his time at CCS, Nathan's extracurricular activities included National Honor Society and playing on the school's golf and tennis teams. His interest in cars was a natural fit with his plans to study mechanical engineering at the Colorado School of Mines from which he was awarded an academic scholarship.
