Youth Mission Trip overview. We partnered with Thirst Missions and we had a crew of 3 wonderful team leaders. Callie, an Army Captain from West Point. Abby, a multi-generation missionary from Alabama with a British accent, and Gabrielle, our site coordinator and chef who calls Nashville home. We worked alongside Southern Baptist Disaster Relief site Coordinator, Gary Bearce and the Anchorage Senior Center.

Youth Mission Trip Day 5, Free Day: We took a scenic drive through Turnagain Arm to Portage Glacier Tour. Then we hiked to the bottom of the Glacier where the kids enjoyed some snow fights, the water from the glacier river and sliding down the hill. Then we drove to Virgin Falls for another beautiful hike and scenery. We ended with a late lunch at Coast Pizza and more ice cream before heading to the airport for our overnight flight home.

Youth Mission Trip Day 4: We went back to the barn to work with Disaster Relief and finish yard work on the Pastor's house. We put up tents for their upcoming VBS and nearly finished clearing out the barn. We took the kids back to Palmer for our last meeting in the beautiful garden where we were blessed to hear from our graduating senior, Anthony Mben, about what the Youth Group has meant to him.

Youth Mission Trip Day 3: We were scheduled to help with the Senior Center who was hosting a Senior Golf Tournament at a local country club. The Senior Center grilled burgers and hot dogs while the Youth learned how to play croquet, courtesy of our British Thirst Missions leader. Then they got to caddy for the tournament. Anthony got one on one golf lessons and Karis is the bunny whisperer.
At the end of the day we went into downtown Anchorage to share blessing bags with some if the homeless population. This was quite an eye opening, and moving experience for everyone.

Youth Mission Trip Day 2: Worked with Disaster Relief again at their storage barn in Wasilla preparing to move items to the Anchorage location and cleaning the barn so that it can be demolished to prepare for the future construction of a new church. Began working on cleaning up the yard at the Pastor's house on the same site. We treated the kids to ice cream and a visit to some shops and garden in nearby Palmer.
