Hi PTO, do we have a paper recycle bin for fund raising? A mom at my church said they used to raise funds this way.
For those of you who go to church tomorrow morning or have kids activities, Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend. Don't forget to set your reminder now to get that extra hour of sleep! Woooohoooooo....

Operating as usual

Good morning Owl families! Our calendar fundraiser is coming to a close. We have 2 more days to give it one last big push to reach our goal. We are almost there and appreciate all your help. Please turn in your calendars and payments no later than Tuesday.

In case you missed the email here's a message from the school about the Storybook Parade tomorrow:

Happy Thursday Oak Ridge Families,

According to the weather forecast, it will "rain on our parade" tomorrow so we are moving the Storybook Character Parade inside. Please read below for details.

Parents will park in the back (near the cafeteria/gym/ORHS9 campus).

Doors will open at 9:20 a.m. to enter and sit or stand in the cafeteria only.

Staff members will be at the doors to greet you and allow you access to the cafeteria.

The parade will start as close to 9:30 as possible. Each grade level will pass through the cafeteria once.

Once the parade is finished, parents will leave through the cafeteria doors they entered through.
Parents will not be allowed to enter the main part of the building from the cafeteria area. If you wish you check your child out after the parade, you will need to drive around to the front, present your driver's license to the front desk and wait there. Students will not be dismissed from the back of the building.

Photo ops will be as the students parade through the cafeteria.

We look forward to a great day tomorrow!

Hey Owls, tomorrow is wear crazy socks or mismatched clothes!

PTO Meeting rescheduled for this Friday 5:30 p.m.

Don't forget Red Ribbon week starts tomorrow!

Thank you to all of our families that came to Fall Family Night. We hope you had a great time. Please enjoy this slideshow and comment with your photos if you would like to share.

We would like to say thank you to all of the volunteers including parents, teachers and staff, National Art Honors and NHS students, ORHS Key Club and ORHS Baseball team. We couldn't have had such a great night without you! Cinemark Tinseltown 17 we really appreciate your popcorn donation, everyone really enjoyed it! Parents we also appreciate all the candy and dessert donations!

It takes a lot of teamwork to put events like this together. It's very heartwarming to see our community come together to make it happen! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Next week is Red Ribbon Week!

Storybook Character Parade is Friday, October 28. Students are invited to dress as their favorite storybook character. We do ask that no props be brought other than the book and masks not be worn. The parade will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. Weather permitting, we will have students and staff parade around the parking lot outside the cafeteria (back lot between us and the 9th grade campus). Parents will have a roped off section. Feel free to take pictures of your child, and cheer as they all walk past. If it rains, we will move inside and parents will be in the cafeteria to view the parade.

We hope to see you tonight!

The weather is perfect for our outdoor games and bouncehouses. We will also have games inside, face painting, Book Fair, cotton candy, popcorn and food trucks!

*Please note prepay is no longer available but we will take payment at the door.

Hey OWLS! How are your Calendar fundraisers going? Please let us know if you have any questions.

*Did you know you can pick just one or as many days as you can? Try asking family and friends or you may even know a local business that might be willing to sponsor a day. Our goal is to fill up as many days as possible on the calendar.

*Individual prizes vary including a treasure box item for completing just one day, other days include pop-its, keychains, a color changing cup and more!

*School wide prizes are extra recess, a popsicle party, pajama day, pie the principal and cream the coach and an ice cream or snow cone party!

*100% of the profits earned from this fundraiser goes right back to our school to help fund field trips, playground updates, fun days and events and so much more.

Thank you for your support!

At Fall Family Night this Thursday we will have a table set up with used books. Students can take a book but please try to bring a gently used children's book to trade. You may bring as many as you want. We hope to get our Little Free Library going again soon and any leftover books will be used to get it started.

A message from our Principal, Mrs. Eldridge:

Just a reminder that Parent Information Night is this Thursday. We will have 2 sessions for the evening for those families who have more than one child.

Session 1 - 5:30 - 6:10 p.m.

Session 2 - 6:15 -6:55 p.m.

Teachers will review expectations for the year as well as set fall conferences at this event. We encourage parents to come without children, if at all possible. If they do come, they need to stay with their parents at all times.

We look forward to seeing you all Thursday evening!
