Montgomery Saxophone Day is an annual educational outreach event at Lone Star College - Montgomery. The day-long event includes master classes, clinics, and a closing concert featuring a massive saxophone ensemble comprised of all participants. The mission of MSD is to provide an environment where saxophonists of all ages can learn more about our instrument and ultimately build a stronger saxophone community in the Houston area. Known for delivering an "excellent performance" (Gramophone) "with dazzling effect" (Pittsburgh Stage Review), soprano Julia Fox shines in opera, concert, chamber, and new music. Recent seasons include operatic appearances with Opera Theater Pittsburgh, Houston Grand Opera, Opera in the Heights, Opera Leggera, and Empire Opera; concert and chamber appearances with Ars Lyrica, enCANTA Collective, Aperio, Foundation for Modern Music, Greenbriar Consortium, Houston Baroque, and Duo Scordatura; and artist residencies with the Banff Centre, 47 Strings, and Texas A&M University. A native Houstonian and graduate of HSPVA and Amherst College, she apprenticed with the Brentano String Quartet and Peabody Trio, and was a Fellow with SongFest and Da Camera. Recent GRAMMY-nominated producer Keith Weber is also a choral and orchestral conductor, vocal coach, organist, pianist, harpsichordist, and collaborator widely known for his musical versatility and excellence. He is currently Director of Music and Organist at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Houston and Artistic Director of Grace Song, Inc. A native of western Pennsylvania, he holds a B.M., cm laude, in Organ Performance and Pedagogy from Southern Methodist University, an M.M. also from SMU and an M.S.M. from Perkins School of Theology. Keith was the founding Associate Musical Director of the Lyric Opera of Dallas, and was Head Coach with the 2002-2005 Summer Festival, Opera In The Ozarks, and has been Music Staff to the four recent premieres with Houston Grand Opera.
