Three down and five to go for this year's campus-based Consolidated Communications Junior High Engineering Design Competition! Congratulations to yesterday's competitors from The John Cooper School!

We kicked off visits to the first of eight schools for the 2021 Consolidated Communications Junior High Engineering Design Competition! Instead of having one large gathering, we are setting up tracks in each school, starting with Peet Junior High, Conroe ISD, to let students test their robot creations. Good luck, student engineers!

Your investments through Education for Tomorrow Alliance, has the potential for life-changing impact: “I interned with EfTA in 2010, my junior year in high school, at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital. In the program, I shadowed various health professionals and was placed in the operating room for the first time. My experience in the OR helped shape my desire to pursue a career in medicine and built the foundation for my love of surgery. I vividly remember the details of the first surgery I shadowed, an abdominal hysterectomy. Years later in medical school interviews, I frequently relived this memory when asked about how I became interested in pursuing a medical degree. Now I am a fourth-year medical student at my top-choice medical school, University of California San Francisco School of Medicine and applying for residency in Otolaryngology. As I continue to work toward a career in surgery, I am thankful for the exposure and direction that I received through EfTA’s internship program.
