I am Maggie, owner of Legacy Oaks Academy. I want to take a minute to thank you for being here.

Many of you have reached out to inquire about our summer and next school year enrollment! Honestly, since the last week in September I was already getting messages and that is truly so humbling.

I know the ache of wanting your kids to find sweet friends and loving to learn…..that pursuit of finding JUST the right place for them to call theirs.

As our school has evolved, so have I.

Each school year as I begin planning the next one ahead I take a tremendous amount of time thinking through how to continue to serve our community the best that I can.

I reflect. I listen. I journal.
I talk - to kids, to parents, to teachers, to mentors.

Each year I pivot a little, adding new things and taking away what’s no longer serving.

It’s a careful, intentional process to make sure that we deliver the very best we can on our promises to you!!

Lego Robotics🤖
Students (Ages 9-14) will use coding, creativity and critical thinking skills to bring their Lego creations to life!
Using Lego Education SPIKE PRIME kits, your child will work with a teammate to read building plans, read and manipulate lines of coding and complete tasks. In our 8 sessions, students will build a different LEGO project each class!
Dates: June 3rd-June 25th; Tuesdays and Wednesdays-8 classes in total
Time: 11:00am-12:00pm

High school English classes focus on academic essays – but that’s not what colleges and scholarship committees are looking for when they request a personal essay.

What exactly is a personal essay, and what are colleges and scholarship committees looking for? And – most importantly – how do you deliver what they’re looking for in a compelling and memorable way that makes your essay stand out?

This class will answer all those questions and more, walking students through the process not only of writing a personal essay but of creating a whole cache of potential essay topics that they can develop in response to any prompt they might be given.

Geometry🔵📐
This course will help develop high school students’ logical reasoning and proof skills while exploring the properties and relationships of geometric figures, including triangles, quadrilaterals, circles, and solids.

Students learn to apply these concepts to real-world problems, understand geometric transformations, explore coordinate geometry, and often receive an introduction to basic trigonometry.

We’ll play fun games that reinforce essential skills like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, building a strong foundation for pre-algebra success.

Watercolor Landscapes🖌️🎨

This course, “Watercolor Landscapes,” will guide you through the fundamental techniques of watercolor painting, specifically focusing on capturing the beauty of natural vistas.

You’ll learn how to effectively use washes, layering, and blending to create depth and atmosphere in your landscapes.
Through practical exercises and demonstrations, you’ll explore color mixing, composition, and brush control, ultimately culminating in the creation of your own original watercolor landscape.
Whether you’re a beginner or have some prior experience, this course will provide you with the skills and confidence to express your artistic vision through the fluid and expressive medium of watercolor.
Date: June 24th-July 3rd (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for 2 weeks – 6 classes in total)
