This week is Build It Cardboard Camp at Lake Creek Academy!

With the help of Ms. Erica, Ms. Ranah, Ms. Aline, and our Junior Camp Counselor Nicole, our 20 campers, out in the new and improved Art Room and STEM Lab became inventors as they designed, built, and problem-solved using cardboard and everyday materials.

This week is all about creativity, collaboration, and thinking like an engineer! Campers will design:
large scale cardboard builds
team design challenges
lots of imagination (and hot glue!)

Less than 24 hours after the '25-'26 school year wrapped, construction began! We are proud to announce that in anticipation of going to wait-list on all grade levels next school year, we are DOUBLING the number of All Gender/Unisex/Single Stall bathrooms in the main building.

We highly recommend G&R Builders for all residential and commercial construction projects, renovations and new builds! Rod and his team are fantastic.

Meet one of our incredible juniors. He came to us having faced the kinds of struggles that make so many kids want to just throw their hands up and give up. But he chose to get back on the horse—and look at him now! 🐎✨
Today, on the last day of school, he handed out a personal, student-created zine he made entirely on his own. It wasn't for a grade or a class project—just a beautiful collection of a year's worth of inside jokes, a school dance playlist, funny quotes, and this incredible dedication page (pictured below) thanking his teachers and friends for making school a "wonderful space."
If that wasn't enough to melt our hearts, he walked up to Mr. Peter completely unprompted and said:
> **“This is the first year of high school that I haven’t hated everything at the end of the year.”**

Let that sink in. This is why Lake Creek Academy exists. We built this space for the students who felt like the world gave up on them. We built it for the parents who refused to lose hope. And we built it for resilient, remarkable kids like him, who just needed the right community to remind them of their own worth.
We are so incredibly proud to announce that he is officially on track to be **the very first graduate in Lake Creek Academy’s Class of 2027!** 🎓🎉
You are an absolute rockstar. Thank you for making *our* school a better place just by being in it. We cannot wait to watch you walk across that stage next year! 🦅💪
