BrightHeart Tool: Buddy Breathing
Hi Bright Hearts!
Today weāre practicing something brave and gentle called Buddy Breathing.
Buddy Breathing helps us feel seen, heard, and lovedāespecially when our bodies feel wiggly, worried, or tired.
š¾ Buddy Breathing (Try This Together)
Sit or lie down next to a grown-up you trust.
Place your head gently on their chest or shoulder.
Close your eyes if that feels okay.
Listen to their breathing.
Listen to their heartbeat.
Breathe slowly togetherā
in through your noseā¦
out through your mouthā¦
nice and easy.
Stay like this for a few slow breaths.
You donāt have to talk.
You donāt have to fix anything.
Just breatheātogether.
š Why This Helps
When we breathe with someone safe, our bodies learn:
āIām not alone.ā
āIām okay right now.ā
āI belong.ā
Thatās how courage grows through connection.
āļøGrown-Up Note
Buddy Breathing supports trust, regulation, and connection by helping a childās nervous system sync with yours. This isnāt about correcting breathing or calming your childāitās about being present.
If your child wiggles, laughs, or wants to stop early, thatās okay. Even a few seconds of shared breathing builds safety.
Relationship comes first.
Skills grow from there.
š”ļø BrightHeart Reminder
Our most important needs are to be seen, heard, and loved.
Buddy Breathing helps us practice all threeātogether.

š Pinned Welcome Post ā BrightHeart Kids
Welcome to BrightHeart Kidsā
a place where courage grows through connection.
Hi Bright Hearts!
This is a space made just for you.
Here, we practice being brave one step at a time.
We learn how to listen to our bodies, build strong skills, and stay connectedāeven when things feel big, new, or scary.
Each week, weāll share a story, activity, or simple tool you can try with a grown-up you trust. Thereās no rush. No pressure. No āperfect.ā Just practiceātogether.
To parents and caregivers:
BrightHeart Kids is designed to support more than emotional awareness. We focus on skill-building, safety, and connection, using tools that help children grow real-life courage, regulation, and confidence.
Weāre not here to fix your child.
Weāre here to walk beside them while they learn, and we invite you to walk with us on this journey of discovery and growth.
This is a relationship-first, skill-forward space.
Emotions matter hereāand they are only one part of helping kids thrive.
This is Facebook and not a truly child safe space so take these tools, resources and share them with your child, or come here with them.
Weāre glad youāre here.

UPDATE:we have hired an amazing artistic team, and we have book 1 in full production! We are looking at publication March 2026!
š„ Calling All True Artists ā Letās Create Something Extraordinary Together! š„
Iām looking for a childrenās book digital artist to partner with me on The BrightHeart Series ā a powerful, purpose-driven line of childrenās books designed for grades 1ā6.
This isnāt just a one-off project. Weāre building a long-term creative collaboration focused on character consistency, emotional depth, and educational impact. The first phase includes 40 books, with the potential to grow into hundreds of titles as the series expands.
AI art wonāt cut it here ā this project requires heart, continuity, and human creativity.
Iām looking for someone whoās passionate about storytelling, childrenās development, and visual world-building.
This is a high-level educational initiative, not a vanity project. Iām open to a commission-based bonus structure for the right partner who truly fits our organizationās mission, culture, and purpose.
If that sounds like you (or someone you know), Iād love to connect. Please share your portfolio so I can see if your style aligns with the vision, and weāll schedule a personal conversation to see if itās a mutual fit.
Letās keep real art alive and build something that lasts.
Who do you know whoās ready to rise with BrightHeart? š
