Last week we had a special visit from Steckelberg Veterinary Clinic PC, our August Community Connections partner! ๐Ÿพ

The kids got a special look at what veterinarians do and learned that taking care of animals can mean caring for everything from family pets to farm animals. It was a fun hands-on opportunity to explore animals, health, and what it looks like to work in veterinary medicine. ๏ฟผ๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿถ

๐Ÿพ Community Connections Spotlight: Steckelberg Veterinary Clinic! ๐Ÿพ

This month, our Little Comets will learn all about caring for animals with our friends at Steckelberg Veterinary Clinic! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿด๐Ÿฎ

In 1960, Dr. Arvin Steckelberg opened the veterinary practice in Conrad. Now more than sixty-five years later, his son Dr. Kurt Steckelberg leads the same clinic. Steckelberg Vet Clinic has grown into a full-service practice with five veterinarians caring for the pets and livestock of Grundy, Marshall, Tama, and Hardin counties.

A big THANK YOU to Steckelberg Veterinary Clinic for connecting this month with our Little Comets and helping our children learn more about the important role veterinarians play in our community! ๐ŸŒŸ

During science week our school age kiddos did a fun experiment! The colored water flower experiment demonstrates how plants transport water through capillary action. By placing the white flowers into a cup with food coloring the tinted liquid travels up the stem to change the colors of the flower petals. ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒˆ
