Fall Festival at DHS

Teachers, please share the information regarding the upcoming Fall Festival at DHS with your families through ClassDojo. We want to make sure our families are aware of this opportunity.

Picture Day – October 19
Conover School Picture Day is scheduled for Monday, October 19, 2026. Please make sure this date is communicated to families through ClassDojo as well.

A special thank you to Dr. Rosanna Whisnant for her support as we work through this period of transition. I greatly appreciate her willingness to step in, learn the many unique aspects of Conover School, and work alongside our staff to ensure continuity for our students and families.

Trunk or Treat – October 30
Our Trunk or Treat will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026. We need volunteers to decorate and set up trunks, as well as candy donations for our high school students to distribute during the event. Thank you in advance for helping us make this a fun and memorable experience for our students!

Moving?
If your family moves at any point during the school year, it is very important that you notify Conover School as soon as possible so we can update your information in Infinite Campus. Conover School serves students from three different school districts, so maintaining accurate address and district information is essential for enrollment, transportation, and service planning.

This is Dr. Efird with your Conover School updates for the week 10/5/26.

Penny Wars Success!
Thank you to everyone who participated in and supported our Penny Wars! Together, Conover School raised more than $1,500 for Brenner Children's Hospital! Congratulations to Ms. Stewart's class, our first-place winner! This was a wonderful example of our school community coming together to support a great cause.

Trunk or Treat – October 30

National Custodian's Day – Mrs. Margaret Bush
A very special shout-out to Mrs. Margaret Bush as we celebrate National Custodian's Day! Mrs. Bush's hard work and dedication are evident throughout our building every day. She works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure Conover School is clean, safe, and welcoming for our students and staff.
Much of what Mrs. Bush does happens quietly, but the impact of her work is felt by all of us. Thank you, Mrs. Bush, for your dedication, your hard work, and the pride you take in caring for Conover School. We appreciate you!

Good evening, Chameleon Families!

This is Dr. Efird with your Conover School updates for the week 9/28/26.

Beginning Monday, we will make a slight adjustment to our afternoon car rider dismissal procedures. Car riders will be grouped in the following locations while awaiting pickup:

Elementary students: Ms. Bouchard’s classroom
High School students: Ms. Keifer’s classroom

This consolidation will allow us to use our staff more effectively and provide additional support and supervision during the transition of students to buses at dismissal.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we continue to make adjustments that support a safe and efficient dismissal process for all students.

Friday 9/25/26 was TA appreciation day. Please take a moment to thank Leah, Lexi, Loa, Lisa, Joy, Kaylie, Julie, and Jordan.

Our paraprofessionals are truly the unsung heroes of Conover School. From driving buses and monitoring students during transportation to supporting instruction, assisting with personal care, implementing student supports, helping with transitions, responding to unexpected needs, and taking on countless other responsibilities throughout the day, they help keep our school operating smoothly.

The reality is simple: Conover School runs on its paraprofessionals.

Your work may not always receive the recognition it deserves, but it is noticed, valued, and deeply appreciated. Your willingness to step in wherever needed provides consistency and support for our students, teachers, families, and the entire school community. Thank you, Leah, Lexi, Loa, Lisa, Joy, Kaylie, Julie, and Jordan, for everything you do each day!

Today we're celebrating Teacher Assistant Appreciation Day, and we couldn't let it pass without honoring incredible people who make such a difference at Conover School every single day.

Thank you to Leah, Alexia, Loa, Julie, Joy, Bobbie, Kaylie, Jordan, and Lisa!

You're the steady hands, the extra patience, and the encouraging voices our students count on. You notice the little things, celebrate the small wins, and help make every classroom a place where students can grow. Our teachers and students are better because of you, and we are so grateful for all you do.
