Check out Mrs. King’s 4th graders, who put their fossil knowledge to work by creating journals from the point of view of a paleontologist! Students described the fossils they discovered using key science vocabulary, then made inferences about either the animal that left the fossil or what the land may have looked like during that prehistoric period.

🥨🍫 Math you can see, touch, and EAT! 🍫🥨

Mrs. Almanza’s 2nd graders had a delicious way to review adding and subtracting two-digit numbers today! Students used pretzels and M&Ms as base-ten blocks to model tens and ones while practicing their math skills.

The rain held off and our fourth graders had an excellent day of learning and adventure at the Emerald Hollow Mine in Hiddenite, NC! 💎⛏️

Students got to explore, dig, and search for their very own treasures while learning more about rocks, minerals, and the geology of our area. From the excitement of finding hidden gems to getting their hands dirty, it was a field trip full of hands-on learning and unforgettable memories! We love seeing our Shuford Owls learning beyond the classroom! 🦉💙💛
