The amazing staff at St. Stephens Elementary ignited with our opening meeting today! It was a wonderful morning having all our staff together in one location to share the SSE vision and prepare for an amazing 26-27 school year! We enjoyed lunch together and celebrated all the amazing things happening at SSE! Stay tuned for more! 🎉

When I say our families, staff, students and community showed up today, I mean they showed up BIG! We had the best turn out for our Beautification Day to clean up our school and make it look fabulous for our students to return. Thank you to all who came out to help, brought tools, planted flowers and spent your morning with SSE! 🌸

Welcome Mrs. Ayala to our 1st grade dual team! ❤️

Hello! My name is Elba Ayala. I am married and have a wonderful daughter. My family is a great source of love, support, and motivation, and I enjoy spending quality time with them whenever I can.
During the summer, I enjoy walking, exploring nature, visiting restaurants, having coffee and dessert, shopping, and spending relaxing moments with my family and friends.
I have previous teaching experience as a bilingual special education teacher. I have worked with elementary students, supporting their academic, language, and social-emotional development. I have experience teaching in dual-language settings, creating inclusive learning environments, differentiating instruction to meet students' individual needs, and collaborating with families and colleagues to help students succeed. I am passionate about helping every child reach their full potential and making learning meaningful and engaging.

Welcome Mrs. Harris to our PEMAS team as our new STEM teacher!

This is my husband, Scott, in the picture with me. I am Dorrie Harris. We’ve been married 47 years. We have two children, 5 grandkids and two soon to be born great grandkids. I enjoy bike riding, disc golf, and pickleball, although I’m not competitive at any of these. I’ve been an educator for 28 yrs. with most of that time in Nixa, MO. I still love the classroom and developing relationships with students. Although this is a new journey for me, coming from a middle school science background to elementary STEM, the hands-on inquiry is key to both, and what I love.

Join us in welcoming our new 1st grade dual language teacher- Stephanie Carter!

Hi, I'm Stephanie Carter. I'm excited to be joining St. Stephens teaching the English side of 1st grade DLI this year. Before joining the Saint family I've worked in Hickory City, Catawba County, and Columbus County schools. My husband Jamey and I have 2 children Margaret (12) and Grant(8). We've spent most of the summer enjoying water activities - the pool, kayaking, and the beach! If I'm not hanging out with my family you'll find me reading. A big SSE welcome to Trent Saine our new Music Teacher!

Hello, My name is Trent Saine, and I’m excited to be joining the team this year. I’m new to the area and looking forward to getting settled in and becoming part of the school community.
I bring three years of secondary music teaching experience from Davidson County, where I taught general music, class piano, guitar, and chorus. Prior to that, I gained experience working with band and orchestra programs in Moore County, and I also trained airframe personnel during my time at FedEx Express.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me riding motorcycles, making music, fixing something that probably didn’t need fixing, or…. lounging at the beach doing my best to do absolutely nothing. I’m excited to meet everyone and look forward to a great year ahead.
