Good afternoon, Cavalier Families!
We are excited to welcome back our students to the 2026-2027 school year!
Here are some important pieces of information for the first week of school.
1) Students will report to homeroom first thing each morning this week. On Monday, students will get a copy of their schedule, and will go over important procedures, lunch schedules and more!
2) Homerooms are listed on the students Infinite Campus portal. However, these will also be posted on the walls in the cafeteria and lobby areas so that students can check their location from these lists as well if needed.
3) Upon entry to school, students who are bus riders will report to the gym. Car riders and student drivers will report to the cafeteria. Car riders may only be dropped off in the front of the school. The building opens at 7:30am.
4) Students will receive their chromebooks in homeroom Monday morning. As a reminder, all students will receive the chromebook they used the year before. Our freshman will receive their chromebooks carried over from 8th grade. All 9th graders' passwords were reset, so they will receive information Monday morning on how to reset. 10th-12th grade students will continue to use their same password. If your child does not receive a charger on Monday, they will receive one by end of week as we are awaiting arrival of new chargers.
5) A few other important reminders for students are to remember that cell phones cannot be used during instructional time and they are placed in their designated area in the classroom upon entry to the classroom. Students should also continue to be mindful of the dress code policy and appropriate dress to school. Finally, being on time for school and class and attending school are important to student success. Students will learn more about these policies and procedures during their class meetings this week.
6) This week, we will also have our first safety drill of the school year. We will review with students safety procedures this week.
7) All students will continue to receive free breakfast and lunch each day.
8) If a student needs to speak with someone about a schedule change, QR codes will be posted around the building and cafeteria. They will use this to fill out a request form for consideration.
9) 10th grade students will also participate in hearing screenings.
10) Our bus drivers have been working to run their routes and outline student pick up and drop off. If your student still needs bus information, please have them see Mr. Watts during their lunch for more information.
11) Finally, we have several home athletic events and we would love to see everyone come out during our first week back. Volleyball will be at home, Monday, Aug. 24, Soccer will be at home on Aug. 26th and 27th (Varsity only), and football will be at home on Friday, Aug. 28th.
We hope you have a great evening and we look forward to seeing our students tomorrow morning!
