🎶 **Summer Band Takes Flight!** ✈️

What happens when you mix music, teamwork, creativity… and a few paper airplanes? A pretty great week at Susquehanna Valley! 💙💛

During the week of July 27, students in grades 5–8 gathered at RTS Middle School for Summer Band, where they worked on their performance techniques, explored a variety of ensemble music and, most importantly, had fun making music with their peers.

Students also learned about the importance of teamwork through ensemble games, practiced their breathing techniques while building and flying paper airplanes and received some great mentorship from members of the SV High School Band. 🎺🎷🥁

A week of music, friendship, teamwork… and maybe a little friendly competition to see whose airplane could fly the farthest! ✈️

🎻 The final rehearsal is underway! 🎶

The Southern Tier String Camp student musicians are getting ready to take the stage for their Finale Concert TODAY at 11:30 a.m. in the Susquehanna Valley High School Auditorium!

Here, our Novice Ensemble prepare to rehearse alongside their Advanced Ensemble mentors, putting the finishing touches on their performance. Meanwhile, the Intermediate Ensemble and remaining Advanced musicians are waiting in the wings for their turn on stage!

After a week of learning, collaborating and making music together, these talented young musicians are ready to share all they’ve learned in front of an audience! 🎻

Fall sports registration is now open at Susquehanna Valley CSD!

Before student-athletes can participate, families must:

• Complete all Arbiter online registration forms
• Upload a current physical to Arbiter or submit a copy to the school Health Office

Physicals expire 12 months after the last day of the month in which they were completed. Students may not participate with an expired physical.

Need a sports physical? The district’s nurse practitioner offers appointments on select Wednesdays. Schedule early to ensure your student is cleared before practices begin:

Football begins Aug. 17, 2026. Other fall sports begin Aug. 24, 2026.

School Bus Drivers & Monitors Wanted…

Support our Sabers throughout the school year.

Work Year is Sept – June & is 5 days/week, 4.5 hrs./day (summer runs also available)

Full-time drivers qualify for health insurance benefits. CDL-training available!

Bus Monitors earn $16/hour and patiently provide a safe environment for our Sabers taking the bus.

Novice, intermediate and advanced string musicians from Susquehanna Valley, Binghamton, Maine Endwell, Union-Endicott and Vestal school districts came together for one BIG rehearsal - and wow, are they sounding good! And this is only Day 2 of the Southern Tier String Camp, hosted by SV's Music Dept! 👏

Hey, Sabers! 👋 Ready to get back into the swing of things?

Sabers & families of students entering grades 10–12 are invited to our first-ever Saber Social on Tuesday, September 1, from 7–8 p.m. at SV High School! Come hang out, check out the building, reconnect with friends, meet our new Assistant Principal Kelsey O’Donnell and (bonus!) students can pick up their schedules early. 🎒📚

Can’t make it? Schedule pickup will also be available from 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. on September 2 & 3.

9th-Grade Orientation Is Coming!

Hey, Sabers! It’s almost time to start a new school year and a new chapter at SV High School! 💙💛

Incoming 9th graders, their families and new students are invited to 9th-Grade Orientation on Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 5:30 - 7 p.m.

Students will pick up their Chromebook, schedule, Yondr pouch and important paperwork, then have a chance to:

Walk your schedules
Find your classrooms
Try out locker combos
Connect with classmates

Come get comfortable, get organized and get ready to start the year strong!
