SV Class of 82 is Old

SV Class of 82 is Old Face it. You can't hide the deterioration any more. So if you skipped the 20th or 30th or any other Class of 1982 gathering, fear not.

We're all falling apart, as we approach (gasp) 60! But we're not there yet, so let's use this page to re-connect.

So that’s a wrap on our very informal, easy-going gathering to commemorate 40 years passing since we graduated high school in June 1982.

Now the questions: should we do this again, and if so, when? We’re not getting any younger, and we’ve lost too many classmates too soon, so should this be a yearly gathering? Maybe that’s a lot to ask … perhaps every other year? Should we put it on the calendar 5 years out?

Being realistic, it’s sad to say that in 10 years, there are some of us who won’t be able to make it.

Clearly no rush to (not) plan things again. But what are your thoughts?

Enjoy the rest of the summer, all.

We’re almost there! Will YOU be??

Hey folks ... this little page is slowly rolling out there, picking up more likes/followers. But please be as active as possible with sharing it to folks from '82 that you stay in touch with, but who may not be connected with many. Would be fun to see as many as possible.

On that front, Paul Gier, one rather elusive classmate, recently reached out and made contact.

Let's see who else we can corral in the next few months. You don't need to organize anything - it's casual and it's done. Just send invites to anyone on your list who may not know this is a thing.

Have a great week! (Except Mike Farrell.)

1982 Homecoming Queen Billie Jo Smey, with her es**rt Dan Casey, rode The Tank from Donnelly Elementary and were treated by paramedics upon arrival at the high school for acute asphyxia.

Also shown in this photo (we believe) are Greg Taylor, Matt Jensen, the ghost of Barry Mohney (he can't still be alive, can he?), and just off camera, the likes of Andrew Brosnan, John Cox, Mark Anthony and Joe French, who was sued by Smey, as this was all his fault. He soon after entered witness protection and went to work for the federal government.

The driver of The Tank was never seen nor heard from again.

Since not everyone stays in touch with everyone, please share this page with folks from the Class of 82 ... and if you want to, invite "friends of 82," just as long as we don't completely HATE them. Otherwise, there could be trouble. Which might be fun, too. So go ahead and invite 'em!

Hey folks ... here we go. Your low-budget, low-effort planning committee here, reporting that we'll have a couple options for a gathering for anyone who doesn't completely hate everyone yet.

Friday, August 5, at McGirk's (same place we gathered for the 30th).

Saturday, August 6, at the Beer Tree downtown. By then, they'll have a rooftop bar area and will be able to handle however many of us show up. Or they'll turn us away. Who cares?

Go to one. Go to both. Go to neither. Up to you. Spend what you want, just let's not end up with Dutcher's car at the bottom of Minehan's pond, or anyone in the tank overnight.

So to review ... there's no high school tour. There's no picnic. No collection of deposits. No planned golf outing. This is supposed to be low-key and fun and we all know we'll just do our own thing anyway. So let's be real.

Bottom line? No one wants to plan this crap, and everyone points at other people (mostly me ... yeah, you can probably guess who ... if not, this might be a good time to say I hate Mike Farrell).

So this is it, bi***es. You don't like it? The official theme of the SV 40th Reunion is as follows: F**k Directly Off. So do that. We might even get t-shirts. Oh, who are we kidding ... that's too much work, too.

On that note, can't wait to see everyone! WOO!!
