From the kitchen table to the Harkness table, Jonathan Jackson ’09 has always been asking the big questions.

After co-founding Blavity, a media and tech company for forward-thinking Black millennials that today reaches more than 100 million users per month, Jackson moved on to build a career as an entrepreneur, adviser, and media builder helping creators and leaders shape their stories across a range of platforms. He credits the discussions that started at his family’s kitchen table in Nashua and continued around the Harkness tables at St. Paul’s School for shaping his mission-driven approach to his life's work.

On this Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember SPS alumni, family members, and every member of the armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. We also give thanks to those in uniform today who continue that tradition of service.

This morning’s chapel service, presided over by the President of the Sixth Form, Henry Wilson '26, featured “The Navy Hymn,” “America the Beautiful,” a reading of the Gettysburg Address, and the reading of the names of the School’s war dead by the Rector. The youngest member of the Third Form laid the ceremonial wreath before the service closed with “Taps.”

This afternoon, our Sixth Form Officers, joined by Rector Giles and the Rev. Wynder Jr., visited the SPS Cemetery to offer readings and prayers and lay wreaths at the grave of First Rector Henry Augustus Coit.
