This meeting is free for all participants and those who attend in-person will be offered a pizza dinner.

Parents, guardians, scholars, & teachers are all welcome!

͙͘͡ ★ Our CIS CommUnity is a stellar bunch!

Two weeks ago, at Open House, we hosted a uniform swap and we had quite a few families participating in one way or another.

Some families donated uniform items wholeheartedly, without expecting or asking for anything in return.

We had families who donated clothing items and then took advantage of their credit for doing so, and either spent additional funds past their credit or told us not to worry about the rest.

We also had people who simply came to shop.

No matter how someone participated, my point is that it went 100% into our school community.

We won’t always share details about how fundraising money is used, especially if it’s to help a kid in need which must be kept anonymous.

But, I did want to share this with you bc it was cool to witness the quick turnaround from how this event helped our school…

From the uniform swap, PTSO raised $153.

We hosted a teacher bagel breakfast on Wednesday, 8/12- The coffee was graciously donated by Rocky River Coffee (Rocky River Coffee Co.), and the money we raised covered the rest of the breakfast items from Mike’s Deli(mikesdelinybagel).

We had a small amount of funds left over and this went towards the Tears & Cheers Breakfast that we hosted on 8/17 for our Kindergarten families.

The money raised through our uniform swap fundraiser to host these breakfast events nurtured both our teachers and the youngest members of our CIS family, which cultivates a strong foundation for our CIS CommUnity to thrive!

Cosmically cool, right?!

Our school atmosphere and community can only get stronger the more we work together.

We’ll have our first PTSO meeting on 9/2 in the CIS Atrium…

We want to extend a thanks for all the families who came out to support our Comets PTSO table & uniform swap at the Middle & High School Open House last night.

We cannot wait to see our elementary families this evening:

When→ 8/11, 3:30-6pm for all Elementary families

Christina and the rest of the PTSO team will be in the atrium with our uniform swap and information table to answer any questions and help in any way we can.

Without donations, our volunteers, and the support of our CIS community (and beyond), this organization wouldn’t work…

PTSO Info Session to immediately follow Open House in the CIS gymnasium- We look forward to seeing you there.

Before students are welcomed back into the classroom, Carolina International will host Open House for all CIS families.

PTSO is excited to be participating in this school-wide event to welcome families back to campus!

͙͘͡ ★ Our returning CIS teachers are out of this world!

These individuals are compassionate, nurturing, silly, and certainly school-spirited.

Our returning educators are truly some of the best in the state, and we are so lucky to have them at CIS to help our students grow!!

I walked these halls a lot last school year, and the love & care that these teachers give to the kids (Not just their own students, but all students.) makes my heart just melt- We truly are blessed to have them. ♡

I never question whether my kids are in the right place knowing who I have to guide them and hold their hand when I’m not around.

To our returning Comets Teachers, we hope you have a most stellar ‘26-‘27 school year! ☆彡

We all appreciate you, and love you so!!!

͙͘͡ ★ Extending a stellar welcome to the new teachers of CIS!

Tomorrow begins teacher workdays for the ‘26-‘27 school year at CIS, and to kick off these workdays our teachers new to the crew will be taking their first steps through our doors.

PTSO, on behalf of the CIS family, would love to extend a warm welcome to these educators. ♡

One thing on our agenda for this upcoming school year is more meetings where we get YOU involved.

We’re kicking this off with PTSO information sessions after each Open House.

Where→ Carolina International School campus & atrium
When→ Monday, 8/10, 3:30-6pm for all HS and MS
Tuesday, 8/11, 3:30-6pm for all Elementary families

PTSO will have a table at Open House; You’ll get to meet the officers, there will be a raffle and uniform swap, & we’ll have basic organization information.

The info sessions will run immediately after Open House, 6-6:30pm, and will cover more in-depth information; You’ll get formal Board Member introductions, we’ll share ideas and an inside look into events and fundraising for the upcoming school year, & you’ll learn about all volunteer opportunities, including open Board and Committee positions.

This Parent-Teacher-Student Organization has grown so much already because of the hard work of your officers and the wonderful support of our CIS community- We are aiming to make this next school year even better, and look forward to our continued collaboration!

ᯓ★ Day in the Life of your PTSO President…

Many school families often see the fruit of our labors, but a lot of planning and coordination leads up to those moments and end results.

Last year, Zion and I met at Summit Coffee in Highland Creek to settle some things and set the financial pace for our PTSO for the ‘25-‘26 academic year.

While at the coffee shop, we noticed a school supply drive box for another local school, so I took pictures of that box and kept the idea in my back pocket over these last several months.

As our next school year approaches, I began reaching out to local businesses to host boxes for our supply drive, working to cover the different areas where CIS students come from.

Summit Coffee- Highland Creek isn’t too far from CIS, and with them being the location to inspire me, I thought it perfect to reach out to them!

Those who know me know that I’m not much of a morning person, so on this early Sunday, after I took my kids’ Godmother to the Concord airport, I popped into the coffee spot to drop off our box and get some much needed caffeine.

Thank you Summit Coffee ☕️ for this morning’s pick-me-up and for hosting our PTSO’s supply drive box!!

Did you know…
• Summit Coffee began in Davidson, NC, so although they’ve grown to 20+ locations across the Southeast, their roots are right in our backyard
• They have a strong connection to nature, which compliments the environmental theme that we hold dear at CIS
• By supporting this small business, you’re supporting someone’s BIG dream… I understand that as a small biz owner myself

Please go out and support this local biz and be sure to get the word out about our supply drive- The drive will run now through September.
