3/17, We Wear Green- $2 donation to PTSO allows students to dress down for the day, wearing green + earns a green raffle ticket for FREE ice cream on 3/20.

3/17-3/20, Scholastic Book Fair- Before school and during lunchtime hours, Tuesday is our preview day and students will have the chance to shop Wednesday- Friday.

3/21, First Annual Spring Fling- Lots of FREE fun for our CIS family + Parent vs. Staff Flag Football game at 1pm

͙͘͡ ★ We’ve got stellar news!

Yes, PTSO has been pretty quiet since just before our vendor market, holiday shop, & winter break…

And, while your PTSO Board members did take a much-needed break during the holidays, they returned to working behind the scenes as our scholars returned to campus.

We’ve kept the Birthday Boost fundraiser going for our wonderful CIS staff, attended School Board meetings, had meetings of our own, & planned with CIS Administrators to bring you some exciting Spring events.

We hope you all enjoyed the winter weather & snow days while we had them, but I know most of us are ready for the beautiful, longer, warmer Spring days.

For the week of 3/16, we will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair…

This event will run 3/17 as a preview day, and 3/18-3/20 for shopping.

Please stay tuned for more details, like shop location & times, and a volunteer Signup Genius link that’ll be pinned to our bio & shared in our stories.

In celebration of the upcoming season, we will host our First Annual Spring Fling on Saturday, 3/21, 11a-2pm.

We cannot wait to share more details about this event later this week…

Here’s a hint, though: It’ll be much like our Fall Festival just with Spring Season vibes. ❀

We’re also looking to host a bowling/skate night, and some restaurant fundraising nights- This is still in planning and any recommendations are welcome through our inbox!

It’s finally here, our First Annual Holiday Vendor Market & Craft Fair!!

When → Today, Saturday 6 December 2025, 11a-2pm
Where → Carolina International Gymnasium
Cost → Admission is FREE to all patrons

This event will be filled with craft & holiday vendors, host a coffee bar and food trucks, include raffle items, and we’ll have a costume contest (Holiday Theme, Favorite Book Character, or International Garb.) for the kids.

This event is open to the public, so CIS families are encouraged to invite their friends & family beyond our small school community!

We are still looking for last-minute volunteers to help with decorating, set up, event assistance, & breakdown → Please look for a SignUp Genius link in our Bio & Stories by this weekend.

☆ Our Food Truck Lineup ☆

We are blessed to have not just one but 3 amazing food trucks participating in tomorrow’s Holiday Vendor Market!

We wanted to be able to provide a variety of offerings for all of our patrons, and we’re excited to host some of the best food trucks in the Charlotte/Concord area:

Drums VS Flats boasts some of the best wings in Concord, and the owner, Terrence, has been a joy to work with already →

Tacos El Ca**on is all about their tacos & tortillas turning you into that “cool guy”, and our teachers couldn’t say enough good things about their food when we had them out for our Food Truck Friday event →

Shawerma G is a favorite of one of Christina’s clients with their delicious Halal-style menu →

Please be sure to check out these awesome food trucks tomorrow at our Holiday Vendor Market, set up conveniently right outside our school gymnasium.

☆ Vendor Spotlight ☆

Announcing our next featured vendor, Stephanie Padron, a local business owner passionate about empowering fellow women and giving them the tools to live their best life.

Steph will be selling her beautiful gratitude & grief processing journals at our upcoming vendor market this Saturday.

I’ve had the honor of participating in a few past events alongside Steph, and with grief showing up for many folks during this time of year, I thought she’d be a beautiful addition to our vendor roster at our event.

☆ Vendor Spotlight ☆

We are hosting a very special group of vendors for our Holiday Market…

Many of you know that a main focus of the CIS curriculum is cultural & international studies, and each grade has a sister country.

For our third graders, their sister country is Peru.

Every year, Peru hosts Santuranticuy, the biggest and most well-known craft fair in the country, held in Plaza de Armas, Cusco on 24 December.

Ms. Hieb and our third grade classes have all been hard at work, putting their hearts into making Peruvian style bracelets to sell at our event.

All proceeds from their sales will go back into the elementary classrooms, covering supplies and other things they need.

Each of us Board Members have a third grader, so it’s extra special to us mamas for our little ones to be participating in our event.

At CIS, we literally are family, and we can’t wait to invite you into our home this Saturday:
