It’s (almost!) National Seat Check Saturday! 🚗💚

And since September is Child Passenger Safety Month, there’s no better time for a quick car seat check.

Car seats are safety equipment, and even small adjustments to installation, harness fit, or how a seat is being used can make a difference. A seat check is an opportunity to work one-on-one with a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, ask questions, and make sure your child’s seat is being used according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

This Saturday, CPSTs will be offering FREE car seat safety checks in San Leandro!

It’s Tuesday and we’re calling out baby gear cleaners who cut corners. 🚩

Because when you’re trusted with child safety equipment, there is ZERO room for “good enough.”

Using steamers or extractors because they’re faster? 🚩
Treating every brand and model the same? 🚩
Improperly cleaning harnesses? 🚩
Rushing drying time? 🚩
Cleaning mold, expired, recalled, or damaged gear instead of knowing when to stop? 🚩
Not being completely transparent about your products and process? 🚩
Ignoring manufacturer instructions because “I’ve always done it this way”? 🚩🚩🚩

This isn’t about getting a car seat the cleanest the fastest. It’s about getting it clean without compromising the safety equipment a caregiver trusted you with.

If the manufacturer doesn’t permit it, we don’t do it.
If the manual doesn’t answer it, we ask the manufacturer.
If something shouldn’t be cleaned, we stop.

No shortcuts. No secret methods. No cutting corners.

Baby gear cleaning is a business, but the equipment we’re handling exists to protect children.

And that will always matter more than a good before + after. 🫧

It’s Child Passenger Safety Week! 🚗🤍

Car seats are complicated. Asking for help shouldn’t be.

Misuse is common, and that’s exactly why Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPSTs) exist. We’re here to educate, answer questions, troubleshoot, and help caregivers feel confident using their child’s seat correctly.

So this week, consider this your reminder to check your seat. And if you have a question, ASK US. Seriously. There are no stupid car seat questions. 🫧

Safer kids. Supported caregivers. That’s the whole point. 🤍

The algorithm doesn’t know whether car seat advice is safe. It knows people are commenting. And when an unsafe cleaning video gets thousands of comments, arguments, shares and reactions, the algorithm sees engagement and pushes it in front of even MORE caregivers.

Then comes the dogpile.

People who genuinely care about child passenger safety start attacking the creator. The creator gets defensive. Any actual education gets lost in the noise. And somewhere in the middle are caregivers who don’t know any better watching a viral video that makes an unsafe cleaning method look completely normal.

That’s the cycle we need to break.

Correct unsafe information? Absolutely.

‼️ But education matters more than humiliation. ‼️

If someone walks away from a safety conversation feeling attacked instead of informed, we probably didn’t make anyone safer.

And for the record: cleaning a car seat with a shower head is outside the cleaning instructions for most manufacturers. Your car seat manual is always the first source for approved cleaning methods, and anything outside of those instructions should come directly from the manufacturer.

We can take child passenger safety seriously without tearing caregivers apart. 🤍

25 years later, an entire generation of children is growing up knowing September 11 only as history.

It’s our responsibility to help them understand why we remember.

To honor the lives that were lost.
To remember the families whose lives changed forever.
To recognize the courage of the first responders and ordinary people who helped one another that day and in the days that followed.

And as we raise the next generation, to carry forward the humanity, compassion, and care for one another that emerged from unimaginable tragedy.

Today, we remember. And we make sure they remember, too. ❤️
