We spy some familiar faces! So happy to see our talented alumni, Dane Crandall ‘24 and Ada Hicks ’25, continuing their musical journeys with Bowdoin’s a ca****la groups.

Dane is representing the Longfellows, while Ada is front and center with Ursus Verses. We’ll always love seeing where our Cougars take their talents!

From JrK Buddy to college football sidelines!

Luke Fox ’24 had some very special fans in the stands at Wheaton this weekend: his former JrK Buddy, Abel, along with Abel’s brother, Avett, and their family.

They picked quite a weekend to make the trip. Wheaton took down Mount Union for the first time ever, ending their incredible 85-game winning streak!

Cannon connections run deep (and they travel pretty well, too). 😍

The annual Alumni vs. Varsity soccer match this weekend showed that the competitive spirit is still going strong within these players!

Our alumni squad went toe-to-toe with a very good varsity team this weekend, battling to a 1–1 draw before the varsity pulled out the win in PKs.

Great turnout, great game, and a lot of Cannon soccer pride on display. The only question now: how many alumni were still feeling it on Monday? 👀

What if grief didn’t have to end the conversation?

After losing their father in 2023, Cannon alumnae and sisters Eden and Shelby Sipperly ‘11 created A Seat at the Table, a conversation card deck designed to help families and friends share memories, ask meaningful questions, and make space for grief with compassion and connection.

In our latest Alumni Spotlight, they share how their own experience inspired the project and how their years at Cannon helped shape the counseling work they do today.

A crowning achievement! Congratulations to Cannon alumna Sophie Pittman ‘25 on being named Miss Maryland Teen USA.

We’re cheering you on as you continue your journey at the University of Maryland and beyond!

Edited to add: Sophie will compete in the Miss Teen USA Pageant in Miami on August 26. Tune into to The CW to watch!

Alumni Spotlight: Ben Childress ‘22

Congratulations to Cannon alum Ben Childress '22 on his new role as Business Development Specialist with Duke Women's Basketball!

After graduating from Duke University this year with a B.S. in biology with a minor in global health, Ben is returning to his alma mater to support one of the nation's premier women's basketball programs. In his new position, he'll help drive strategic growth through business development initiatives focused on fan engagement, donor relations, premium experiences, corporate partnerships, ticketing, and NIL opportunities.

Reflecting on the opportunity, Ben shared: “I can't wait to contribute to a program whose work has always inspired me and help build on everything it has already achieved. Excited for what's ahead. Go Duke!"

We're proud to see Ben combining his passion for athletics and leadership as he begins this exciting new chapter. Congratulations, Ben! We are cheering you on every step of the way!
