God Is Not Finished With What He Started

There was a time when the temple was only an unfinished reminder of what had been lost.

But Ezra 6 tells a different story.

The people kept building, God opened doors that opposition could not close, and eventually the temple was completed. What had once been broken became a testimony to the faithfulness of God.

Maybe there are places in your life that still feel unfinished.

Your faith may need strengthening. Your prayer life may need renewing. Your family may need restoration. Perhaps God began something in you that discouragement, distraction, or disappointment caused you to stop pursuing.

Ezra 6 reminds us: unfinished does not mean abandoned. God is still at work.

This Second Sunday at New Life Fellowship Church in Concord, we are gathering with that expectation. At 9:00am, our adults meet for Empowering & Equipping Class, creating space to grow deeper in God’s Word. At 10:00am, we gather for Sunday worship and the Word, believing God wants to continue His transforming work within us.

And this Sunday, there is another beautiful sign of rebuilding: at 12:30pm, our Youth Ministry restarts.

From adults growing deeper to young people being discipled, God is building His house by building His people.

Come be part of what God is doing.

Summer is over, The kids are back to school...
We are grateful for VBS "Crosscut Creek" in partnership with the Merrill Evangelistic Team, it was a week of bible-based fun filled time with our children and youth.

Volunteers have been in prayer for the week of VBS here in Concord, NC! We’re looking forward to seeing God at work!
Registration opens at 6pm and VBS runs 6:30-8:30 tonight through Thursday. We’d love to see you!

Haggai 2:20–23 gives this series a powerful progression: God shakes what seems permanent, reminds His people who truly rules, and then speaks personally to Zerubbabel: “I have chosen thee.” For New Life Fellowship, that creates a strong message about rebuilding our spiritual lives with confidence in God’s sovereignty, presence, and calling.

22And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and
their riders shall come down,
every one by the sword of his brother.

23In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel,

Sometimes we can become so busy building our lives that we forget to ask whether we are building what matters most to God.

That is the challenge at the heart of Haggai. God’s people had returned home and rebuilt their own lives, but the house of the Lord remained unfinished. Through Haggai, God interrupted their routine with a searching invitation: “Consider your ways.”

Those words still speak to us. We can fill our calendars, pursue our goals, care for our responsibilities, and still discover that something inside us needs rebuilding. Perhaps our prayer life has become quieter. Perhaps worship has become routine. Perhaps our hunger for Scripture has faded.

This Sunday at 10:00am, New Life Fellowship gathers to worship and hear the Word together. Then Wednesday at 7:00pm EST, we continue the conversation through Scripture, followed by prayer at 7:45pm.

Come ready to ask God a courageous question:
“Lord, what needs rebuilding in me?”

Don’t simply attend another gathering. Make room for God to reorder your priorities, restore what has been neglected, and renew your desire for His presence.

It may be time to build again.
