~ A letter from Ms. Suzanne~
For 15 years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve the St. James parish community, and the community beyond our parish, as Director of New Beginnings Preschool. What began as a job became something much deeper—a calling, a family, and a place that has profoundly shaped my life.
The Holy Spirit has called me in a new direction. I have been given the opportunity to serve my Church and the broader community through the Diocese of Charlotte, and I am excited to carry with me the experiences, relationships, lessons, and love for children and families that I have gained here at New Beginnings.
Leaving is incredibly difficult. Fifteen years is so much more than a career—it is a lifetime of memories, relationships, celebrations, challenges, and people who have left an indelible mark on my heart. I am especially grateful for the privilege of watching your children grow and for the trust you placed in me to care for and serve them.
I am incredibly proud of New Beginnings and all that we have built together. As I transition from my role as Director, I want our families to feel confident about the future of the preschool. Church leadership, along with Ms. Amanda, will work closely together to oversee the day-to-day needs of New Beginnings and provide stability and continuity until a permanent Director is appointed. They know this program, they know our staff, and most importantly, they understand how deeply our families and children are loved here. Our wonderful teachers and staff—the heart of New Beginnings—will continue doing what they do best each day: loving, nurturing, teaching, and caring for your children. These teachers are THE best of the best.
Although I am stepping away from my professional role as Director, I am not leaving St. James. This is still my parish and a place I will always call home, and a place of deep friendships. I also plan to remain involved in our Faith Formation Ministry in some capacity, continuing to serve our parish children and families in a different way. My relationship with St. James does not end with this transition; it is simply changing.
Thank you for allowing me to serve your children and families for the past 15 years. Thank you for trusting me, supporting me, laughing with me, growing with me, and allowing me to be part of so many important moments in your lives.
I leave New Beginnings with a very full heart—deeply grateful for all these years have given me, incredibly proud of what we have built together, and excited for the opportunity ahead. New Beginnings will always be a part of who I am, and I hope that a little part of me will always remain here.
