🐥💛 Our classrooms are full of tiny footsteps and big excitement!
Our growing chicks have been busy exploring their pen—running, peeping, and showing off their curious little personalities. It’s been such a joy for our students to observe their growth and movement each day, bringing learning to life in the most meaningful (and adorable!) way.

Last week, our Concord Montessori School community gathered at the Concord Free Public Library for a joyful afternoon celebrating books, creativity, and connection.
Children brought gently loved books to share, wrote thoughtful notes for the next reader, and created their own bookmarks before enjoying a special storytime with Fowler Branch Librarian, Dorrie. The highlight of the afternoon was, of course, the book swap—watching stories find new homes and new readers! 📚💛
Thank you to all the families who joined us for this meaningful celebration of reading and community!

During Chinese Circle today, in addition to practicing the songs the children will be singing at our upcoming Winter Sing-Along, I introduced them to three kinds of tea: an herbal chrysanthemum tea and two types of green tea—one with flat leaves and one with curly leaves. I brewed a pot of chrysanthemum and goji berry tea, and all of the children tried it, with many asking for seconds.
I was so impressed by their willingness to taste something new and how much they enjoyed the experience!

When you step into a Montessori classroom, whether it’s our toddler room with nine children or our primary classroom with twenty, parents are often amazed by the children’s level of engagement. The children seem to know exactly what to do and, for the most part, carry out their work independently. Achieving this does not happen by chance. It comes from several key elements working together: a carefully prepared environment, experienced Montessori guides, and an essential principle that the adults in the environment uphold, freedom within limits.
This concept means children are given the freedom to choose their work, move around the classroom, and follow their interests, but always within clear, consistent boundaries that are set by the trusted adults (teachers or parents) that protect safety and learning. These limits are not restrictive; they provide the structure children need to develop self-discipline, concentration, and responsibility.

The Fall Art Show is now open and will run through December 16, inviting families and community members to view the children’s creative work. Students in the Primary classrooms studied Lorenzo Ghiberti’s Gates of Paradise and designed their own embossed foil prints using hand-carved cardboard plates. Each piece reflects the students’ personal inspirations and thoughtful attention to detail, showcasing their imagination and craftsmanship.
All are welcome—current, alumni, and prospective families! To RSVP, please email [email protected]
