🍎 Apple Hill Adventures! 🍏

This past weekend, our ALC members enjoyed a fun-filled trip to Apple Hill! From meeting some furry friends and exploring the local shops to checking out all the delicious treats and handmade goodies, there was plenty to see and experience. 🐮🍎🛍️

We love opportunities like these that bring our members out into the community to explore new places, make memories, and enjoy time together. ❤️

What a fantastic way to wrap up our ALC Summer Picnic! ☀️🌭🍔

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an afternoon filled with delicious hamburgers and hot dogs, creative art activities, exciting park games, and lots of laughter. It was wonderful seeing our members, staff, and community come together to celebrate, connect, and make lasting memories.

Our members enjoyed a magical evening in San Francisco, where they experienced the enchanting Beauty and the Beast musical! 🌹🎭 From the incredible performances to the unforgettable music and storytelling, it was a night full of laughter, wonder, and lasting memories.

To top off the evening, everyone gathered for a delicious dinner at Chili’s, sharing great food, conversation, and plenty of smiles. ❤️ We love creating opportunities for our members to explore the community, experience the arts, and make meaningful memories together!

✨ Imagination came to life at The Walt Disney Family Museum! 🎨🏰

Our Community Connections members enjoyed an incredible Character Design Workshop, where they learned how animators use emotions, shapes, sizes, personalities, and storytelling to create unforgettable characters. A special congratulations to three of our members who bravely volunteered to present their original characters, sharing their names, backstories, and the creative choices behind their designs.

The experience continued with a hands-on Touch Tour, where members explored exclusive 3D models that brought the museum’s stories and animation history to life. It was a magical day filled with creativity, confidence, and inspiration! 💙🧡✨

Creativity is coming to life in our Audio Production group! Shari is hard at work producing her very first original audio recording—from recording her own voice to creating beats, designing sound effects, editing, and mixing every detail herself.

We’re so proud to see her learning new skills, expressing her creativity, and building confidence through multimedia. We can’t wait to hear the finished project!

📸 Member Spotlight: Skylix 🌿✨

At Adaptive Learning Center, our Tailored Day Services supported Sky in our Multimedia Department by discovering their talents, building skills, and fostering creativity, and Skylix is a wonderful example of that in action!

These incredible photos were captured and edited by Skylix, showcasing a creative eye for composition, lighting, and storytelling through photography. From vibrant flowers and breathtaking landscapes to stunning silhouettes and portraits, each image reflects both artistic vision and growing technical skills.

📸 Celebrating Disability Pride Through Creativity! 🌈🎨

This past weekend, several of our talented members proudly showcased and sold their artwork at the East Bay Innovations Disability Pride Month Art Sale! It was an incredible opportunity for our artists to share their creativity, connect with the community, and celebrate the talents and contributions of people with disabilities.

We’re so proud of each artist who represented the Adaptive Learning Center with confidence, passion, and pride.

A heartfelt thank you to East Bay Innovations for inviting us to be part of this meaningful event and for creating a space where artists with disabilities can shine. Opportunities like these help build a more inclusive community while empowering individuals to share their gifts with the world.

🎨🖌️ Creativity, community, and inclusion made for an unforgettable evening!

Our members had an amazing time attending Paint Night with the City of Brentwood Inclusion Program at Created By You Art Studio in Brentwood, CA. Everyone enjoyed expressing their creativity, trying new painting techniques, and creating unique masterpieces in a fun and welcoming environment.

A huge thank you to the City of Brentwood Inclusion Program and the wonderful team at Created By You Art Studio for hosting such an inclusive and enjoyable event. We love partnering with organizations that create opportunities for people of all abilities to connect, create, and build lasting memories.

When the Concord heat turned up, our members headed for the coast to beat the heat! 🌊☀️

We spent the day at Pacifica Taco Bell Beach, enjoying Taco Bell with an unbeatable ocean view before taking a relaxing stroll along the shoreline. Members loved watching the surfers catch waves, feeling the cool ocean breeze, and soaking in a refreshing change of scenery.

Sometimes the best way to recharge is to step outside your routine, connect with nature, and share great moments with friends. Days like these remind us that community, adventure, and inclusion go hand in hand.

Here’s to making memories, staying cool, and embracing everything our beautiful Bay Area has to offer! 💙🌮🏄‍♂️
