Carondelet High School Carondelet is a private college-prep girls' school founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet

Carondelet High School was founded in 1965 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet at the request of Bishop Floyd Begin, first bishop of Oakland. In the tradition of their congregation, the Sisters responded to the needs of the Church by establishing the only Catholic secondary school for young women of Contra Costa County.

Heather Feeney’s Scientific Illustration class visited the UC Master Gardener Demonstration Garden in Shadelands. The master gardeners gave them a tour of the garden, explained their planting process, and were on hand to answer questions. The student artists observed the edible plants that are currently growing in Northern California and then deepened their observation by sketching the different plants, flora, fruits, and vegetables.

On campus, Latina Unidas and DEI Council will join forces to celebrate the culture, history, and heritage of the Hispanic community, featuring a burrito sale and a DĂ­a de los Mu***os wall and ofrenda honoring past influential Latina women.

In Marissa Lafler's Honors Biology class, students honed their experimental designs to explore pillbug (or roly-poly) behavior and environmental preferences!

They combined insights about physiology, anatomy, and life history to craft hypotheses, pinpoint independent variables, gather data, and reach conclusions based on their findings.
