Isabel passed Piano Express Level 3 at home, and she didn’t stop there. By the time she came back in, she’d already started Level 4 and knocked out a couple of the intro songs too.

She’s been flying through levels for a long time — even back in Level 2, she’d come in and casually mention she’d already passed a bunch of songs at home.

Ms. Addy and Mr. Maxwell have both seen how hard she’s worked to get through Level 3, and we’re excited to see her take off in Level 4.

Last concert’s a wrap! Another fantastic group of students.

Lots of first-time performers at this concert, we were so proud of their bravery.

We can’t wait to watch everyone perform in our December recitals and see how much progress they make between now and then!

Abbey is a star student at Figaro. She's only been playing the piano for a year and a half, yet she has somehow managed to make it to level 5(!), and in May she participated in her first exam with the Royal Conservatory of Music and passed with flying colors.

At Figaro we have featured songs that many students learn in addition to their Piano Express songs. These are usually songs that most people would be familiar with. It’s a great opportunity for our students to add a fun song to their repertoire that they can show off to friends and family.

Learning these songs takes effort and motivation, which are two things that Abbey has demonstrated to us over and over again. I hope you enjoy hearing her play "Stars and Stripes Forever" as much as we did. If you do, please leave her a 👏!

If your child wants to quit piano, make sure you know why. And if the reason is because it’s starting to feel harder — that’s the WORST time to let them quit!

If you let your child quit when it starts to feel too hard, you’re just confirming that it IS too hard for them.

Your child might not SAY it’s too hard, but they may rather just start avoiding the piano because they’ve tried their song a few times and they didn’t get it down yet. It may be FUN when the learning comes easily, but it’s not nearly as rewarding. The truly rewarding part of learning the piano is pushing through the hard parts and persevering. This gives longer-lasting joy! And it makes your child a stronger person — not just when it comes to music, but life in general.

Third day of recitals! 🎶 Everyone did so well, and we loved hearing students share a little more about the pieces they performed. We’re so proud of all the hard work, dedication, and preparation that went into making this concert week so special! 👏✨

How many Figaro workers does it take to assemble six new pianos?

Usually only one! Our superstar office manager Jessica has single-handedly assembled many of the pianos at the studio.

This time a few more of us stepped in to help to get the job done more quickly before concerts started, since we got a delivery of six pianos right before our concert week started 😂

Did you know that we have 45 pianos at Figaro Music Studios? Three are acoustic. The rest are high-end Yamaha and Roland digital pianos.

We had another great concert day on August 18th!

At the 6pm concert, we did something we’ve never done before — several of our students performed some extra music out in the lobby BEFORE the actual concert, in addition to their actual concert piece. It was super fun!

So proud of these hard-working kiddos, they seriously blew us away.

The piano teachers at Figaro had so much fun preparing a quartet to play at the concerts this week!

For us music is a way to connect with each other and to learn to understand each other better. We hope to teach our students to get the same benefits out of music. Music shouldn't be kept to yourself, it should be shared!
