NCHS 50th Anniversary Minutes
June 24th, 2016
I. Meet and Greet/Alumni Friday Night
a. Sept. 16th West Rowan vs. NCHS
b. Meet and Greet with past alumni at Boger Field from 6-7
c. Col. Martin will check into supplying hotdogs at the meet and greet.
d. Alumni will be recognized before the game (7:15) and make a tunnel to welcome the football players on the field.
e. During halftime a moment of silence will be observed for those who are no longer with us.
f. Send out flyers with middle/elementary schools
g. Post flyer on Facebook
h. RSVP to [email protected]
i. Can we make an event on facebook to rsvp?
II. Open House
a. T-Shirts
i. Get some new designs and prices (Mandy/Mark)
ii. Pre-sell them online and use the profits to get some to pre-order some to sell at the outreach tables.
iii. Sell some at a table during lunches at school.
iv. Need to order some 3 XL and 4XL.
b. Food Venders
i. Mark is working on finding food trucks to rent out spaces from either one of the two or both time slot times 9-1 and 2-7 (may need to work on the times a bit). $100 per spot and if they rent both slots they will only have to pay $175.
ii. This can be a write off for the vendors as a donation and the rest is profit for them.
iii. The funds raised can help to fund the t-shirts if needed.
iv. All funds will be donated to NCHS.
c. Security
i. Officer Dean Vernon to going to see if there is a way to get some of the alumni officers to donate their time during the open house.
d. Videos
i. Mandy has already scanned the yearbooks that the school has and all of their class pictures for a video to be made.
ii. There are yearbooks we don’t have: 67, 68, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 78, 81, 82, & 2001. If you have any of these please let me know.
iii. Gary Walters and Mandy are going to go through the yearbooks to look for pictures of the building transformation.
e. Meet and Greet with Staff
i. Mandy is working on a list of all past staff members and will distribute it to the those on the committee to help get contact information.
ii. We are looking to invite some staff to have a 30 minute meet and greet in the lecture hall.
f. Memorabilia
i. Mandy will call Margret Anderson to ask to help in this area.
ii. The committee was asked to determine what memorabilia they could bring and make a list so we can see what we have next meeting.
g. Vintage Cars
i. Gary Walters is working on organizing a car show for in front of the school with cars from each decade.
h. Publicity
i. Mandy Called the Independent Tribute to see if they would be willing to run a story on our 50th anniversary and is waiting to hear from them.
ii. Get our flyers to churches in the area.
III. Outreach
a. Set up a table at the football games to get alumni information and sell anniversary shirts.
b. Get sign made from Angie in front office
c. August 19-Crystal/Mandy
d. Sept. 9-Crystal/Mandy
e. Sept. 16 Hank/Mandy
