This weekend, the Diablo Nippongo Gakuen community celebrated the New Year mixing fun, food, togetherness, and tradition. Students learned about the customs that make #お正月 or Japanese New Year so special, from (mochi making), to games like beigoma, hanetsuki, kendama, to the foods that help ring in the New Year like (New Year's mochi soup).
A big thanks to 先生方(senseis) and all the families who helped plan and contribute to a fun-filled day!

Diablo Nippongo Gakuen is excited to welcome our families back to school this Saturday, September 10 at 8:30 A.M.
We will start with welcome and introductions, followed by student and parent classroom orientation. Coffee and donuts will be provided!
Parents should stay after leaving their children in class for our first general meeting at 9:30 A.M. ***This meeting is mandatory for all families***
If you have not already registered and enrolled your children, please check your email for information about registering using our new online process. Tuition is due on the first day of school. We will accept tuition payments on the first day of school. Mailed tuition payments are considered on time if postmarked by Saturday, September 10.
We look forward to seeing you to kick off the 2022-23 school year!

Diablo Nippongo Gakuen (Concord, CA)
Diablo Nippongo Gakuen (https://www.diablonippongogakuen.org/) is hiring teachers for kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and high school sections. Classes are taught from 8:45am to 12:00pm on Saturdays in Japanese.
Required: Ability to speak, read, write and understand Japanese at fluency level, ability to explain grammar concepts to JSL students in English, strong interpersonal skills, rapport with elementary, junior-high, and high school students, as well as citizenship, residency or visa/work permit. Preferred: Experience in teaching Japanese to JSL students (not required).

Diablo Nippongo Gakuen is proud to celebrate our 2022 graduates who have worked hard and have achieved so much growth on their educational journey. We are grateful that we will be able to celebrate in-person this year, outside on the lawn.
Join us as their fellow students honor the graduates with performances. It will be a fun and celebratory event!
