Join us on May 30th for a quick drop-in to discuss our latest book for this year’s summer book chat. The Book of Unknown Americans by Cristina Henríquez will be our text. We chose this text because it gave the perspective of different ML families, which aligns with this year’s conference theme, Bridging Worlds, Building Futures. Books will be provided free of charge. Invite friends, whether members or not, we’d love to have you.

Not only I loved serving our students in our classroom…but I enjoyed learning from each and every one of them.

Carolina TESOL announced their 2026 Carolina Canvas Awards winners and our ML Alezhka WON first place at the HS level!!!

“Uniting My Worlds” is a perfect title for her work—she shared all she appreciates & values about her Venezuelan 🇻🇪 culture and language as well as all she’s squiring here in the USA 🇺🇸

Uniting worlds NOT 2 worlds! LOVE IT! 🌎

Alezhka will not only receive $60 as a prize winner but her work will be featured at the 2026 Carolina TESOL conference in Charleston, SC this fall.
