Earlier this month, ASP alumni from across the program’s 69-year history came back to campus to relive a little of their SPS summer during Alumni Day!

On a sunny Saturday, nearly 200 ASPers sat in on classes, toured the grounds, flipped through old photos in the archives, caught up over lunch, and ended their day with a young alumni panel and a special chapel service. The day’s attendees included a graduate from the very first session in 1958 and an enthusiastic cohort from the class of 2025.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a day full of memories, connection, and summer tradition.

Our annual ASP College Day was another great success!

Following a keynote address by Sam Prouty, executive director of admissions at Middlebury College, students had the opportunity to connect with admissions officers from more than 60 colleges and universities from across the country. Students and families also attended an admissions panel featuring representatives from Smith, Notre Dame, Bard, and the University of Vermont, as well as a session on financial aid with Concord-based education nonprofit Granite Edvance.

This year’s College Day also offered the option for students who attended last summer’s ASP as rising high school juniors to return as they actively begin their college searches. It was great to see some familiar faces back on campus!

It all came down to the final minutes. 🏀

Yesterday’s annual interns vs. students basketball game had the whole crowd on its feet as the teams battled back and forth all game. In the end, it was the interns who pulled away with two minutes on the clock to seal the win. A special thank you to our halftime performers and the enthusiastic spectators who joined for an unforgettable Rec at the ASP!

Last week, more than 40 ASP students traveled to Medford, Massachusetts, to visit Tufts University as part of their college advising experience. Students had the opportunity to tour the campus, hear from admissions officers, and get a firsthand look at college life.

And yes, they made sure to stop for a photo with Jumbo, the university’s beloved elephant mascot. 🐘

Athletic performance starts in the brain! 🧠💪

This past week, students in Physiology for Athletic Performance dissected sheep brains to explore how the brain controls movement, coordination, and reaction time.

Over the past week, our Psychology students, in collaboration with Studio Arts, invited the entire ASP to take a moment on their way to lunch and share some of the small things they have appreciated during their first two weeks on campus. From rainy days and new dorm friends to the campus geese and morning chapel, there has been plenty to notice all around.
