Happy Birthday to the great Professor Wally Jay!⁠ 🎂🎂🎂 ⁠Today would mark the 109th year since he was born. For those of you who aren't familiar with him check out some of his accomplishments below!⁠ ⁠ Grandmaster Wah Leong Jay was an iconic martial artist. He is well known as one of Bruce Lee's teachers and infamous as the founder of Small Circle Jujitsu.⁠ ⁠ Born in Hawaii, Wally Jay had humble beginnings in martial arts. At the age of 11 he began training in boxing with the desire to strengthen his mind and body. As he progressed, he went on to study Danzan Ryu Jujitsu, Judo and Seifukujitsu as well. After high level training in Danzan Ryu, he earned the title of Shihan from the founder Professor Henry Okazaki.⁠ ⁠ Throughout his years of cross training in martial arts, Wally Jay synthesized his own variation of Jujitsu with the principles of two-way action he had learned from Judo Sensei Ken Kawachi. This birthed what we know today as Small Circle Jujitsu. He spent many years travelling to teach what he knew, wrote books and mentored many who had the drive to learn.⁠ ⁠ Thank you Professor Wally Jay for the knowledge that you passed down to us!⁠

🥳 Surprise visit from Sensei Steven! 👋🏻 It was so great to see him Wednesday and hoping we get to see him again! He and Ryan did some advanced sword 🗡️ work and hung out to catch up. Always an honor to see and learn from a great sensei.

This last year has been full of accomplishments - she got her Certification of Massage in Seifukujitsu, perfected her custom gi designs (👀 peep that last slide), got a new car AND placed 2nd Place (in Weapons Kata) & 3rd Place (in Jujitsu Kata) at this year's MokoMoko Invitational!

You are absolutely awesome and we are so proud of you!!

Thank you to everyone who has trained with us through the years. It has been great watching our dojo Ohana grow on and off the mat.
