Today, Governor Kelly Ayotte proposed a Community College Promise Program that would offer free tuition at NH’s seven community colleges to families with incomes up to $100,000.

The Promise Program, developed with input from CCSNH, would cover tuition after federal and state aid. If approved by the Legislature, the Community College Promise Program would begin in the fall of 2027 for current and new students.

“For many students, cost remains the greatest barrier to pursuing higher education and workforce training. This proposal would help remove that barrier,” said CCSNH Chancellor Dr. Chuck Lloyd.

This fall, Great Bay Community College is launching a new Criminal Justice Leadership certificate designed for working professionals.

It features courses in leadership, research methods, and ethical decision-making. It ends with a capstone project in which students take on a real issue facing a criminal justice agency.

The timing matters. Jobs for police and detective supervisors are expected to grow 8% over ten years in NH. That's more than double the national rate. Tap link in comments to learn more.

A great visit to PlaneSense, Inc. this week! We discussed workforce needs and explored ways to grow partnerships with Nashua Community College's aviation programs and Tradeport neighbor Great Bay Community College.
The majority of their 700 employees are based right here in NH. Thanks to State Reps. Ken Weyler and Martin Jack for joining, and to PlaneSense for a wonderful tour.

Helping local businesses grow also means paying attention to the challenges they face. For many in the trades, finding skilled people is a big one.

That’s why this work means so much to me.

Today, we brought that conversation into the WOKQ studio with Steve Turner, founder of Bring Back The Trades, his wife Shari, and WOKQ morning show host Garret Doll.

Together with the Community College System of New Hampshire, we’re putting together a series of local voices to highlight opportunities in the skilled trades and encourage more people to explore them.

For parents, that could mean nurturing a child’s interest in working with their hands. For someone considering a career change, it could mean discovering a path they hadn’t considered.

The next step can be simple: talk with a tradesperson, explore training through CCSNH, or connect with Bring Back The Trades.

Liana Demers earned her high school diploma and an associate degree in Business Studies from Manchester Community College in the same month while dancing 5 nights a week and working.

As a high school sophomore, Liana took online courses at NHTI-Concord's Community College through the early college program, then enrolled full-time at MCC. This fall, she plans to join the Boston Dance Theater Trainee program.

“It is amazing what a head start you get through Early College,” said Liana.
