Code Inspired is a computer programming competition for K-12th grade students in the US aimed at engaging teams of students to address real-life problems through technology with the goal of increasing functional computer coding literacy across all races, genders and socio-economic groups. This two day event brings the best teams from around the US to show their solution to the annual challenge whi
ch students have created over the past year. Thousands of dollars in prizes, scholarships and technology are awarded. Who: Selected K-12th grade US students will participate in the competition for individuals or in teams of a maximum of 3 from any school (public, private, home schools), a parent entered submission or teams from organizations like 4-H, Scouts, etc. What: A two day event that brings the best teams from around the US to show their solution to age appropriate real-life problems created over the past year. Thousands of dollars in prizes, scholarships and technology will be awarded. When: July 15 & 16, 2016 and held annually every July thereafter. Where: St. Louis, Missouri
How: Competition, challenge problems and awards are divided into age groups and judged by non-partial professionals:
• Elem K-5
• Middle 6-8
• High school 9-12
Why: Technology is the backbone of a thriving economy. Increasing functional computer coding literacy across all races, genders and socio-economic groups helps fill the pipeline of students entering technology fields with a subset choosing technology careers.
