Day two of NCOLS... busy day for cadets both in and out of the classroom

NCOLS: Day 2 (Thursday 28)
First full day at NCOLS, the cadets woke up, went to breakfast, and got ready for drill. They practiced leading drill for an hour. Their next activity was called tanks, where two flights used drill maneuvers to run into run into the flight from the side, while the other flight attempted to evade them. They went to a class on learning techniques. Their next activity was an LRC or Leader Reaction Course, which is an exercise to build teamwork, and leadership skills. After the LRC, NCOLS cadets learned about public speaking. Their next class was teaching them how to conduct drill and uniform inspections. Dinner followed the inspections, before two final classes on servant leadership and motivation others. The cadets received an hour of free time in the barracks to end the day to work on their speeches for the end of the week and to relax before lights out.

NCOLS: Day 1 (Wednesday 27)
Today cadets arrived for inprocessing and the beginning of the Winter Cadets Leadership Academy. Directly after inprocessing, they went to their rooms for unpacking, after unpacking cadets went to lunch and a welcome and safety briefing. Afterwards, cadets reviewed the curriculum for their training this week. They then went to the PT area to practice the new CPFT test, including the new Pacer running test, updated sit up form and a new push up format. After PT they started to work on their own school SOP (Standard Operating Procedures). The next activity was dinner, followed by classes presented by Captain Cray concerning Drug Demand Reduction and Responding to Stressful Situations.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2017 Winter NCOLS for both Senior Member and Cadet staffing positions. This years Winter Academy will be held at the National Guard Training Facility in Center Strafford, NH

Attention!! Graduation CANCELLED!!
Due to difficulties with plumbing in the building, our graduation at 11:00 am tomorrow morning has been Cancelled. Cadets will be eating breakfast at 7:00 am and then will be preparing for out processing. Any parent wishing to arrive early for out processing early, may arrive any time after 8:30.
