Big change for California insurance licensing — starting January 1, 2026!

California repealed the old 20-hour and 40-hour prelicensing courses.
The ONLY required prelicensing course now is:

👉 12 hours of Code & Ethics (online or classroom)

But — the exam did NOT get easier.

The former Educational Objectives are now the Examination Objectives, which means the test still covers the full body of insurance knowledge.

That’s why preparation matters.
