Rico’s Acai food truck visited CMES on today, September 16th, to give our incredible staff a well-deserved special treat! 🥣💙

Our teachers and staff work tirelessly each day to support, encourage, and inspire our Comets. We are so grateful for everything they do for our students and our school community! 🌟

Thank you, Rico’s Acai, for helping us show our staff some love and appreciation! And a HUGE thank-you to our amazing CMES staff for all of your hard work and dedication to our kids! ☀️🍓💙

We’re looking forward to seeing our Comets at the school store tomorrow morning! Students can shop for fun, affordable items like pencils, erasers, stickers, fidgets, and seasonal surprises. 🖍️✨

🗓️ When: Tomorrow, Thursday, 7:40–8:10 AM
📍 Where: Outside the Media Center
🎒 Who: All grades welcome!

💰 A few things to know:
• Items are $2 or less
• Cash only
• $5 spending limit per child
• No change for bills over $20

We are THRILLED to announce that Cox Mill Elementary is the GRAND PRIZE WINNER of the 2026 Carolina Panthers Spirit Rocks! Contest! 🏈🎉

Our Comets are bringing home a $2,500 ART GRANT for Cox Mill Elementary! 🎨💙

This incredible win would not have been possible without the creativity and dedication of our very own CMES MOM of 2, Ms. Julie Berry and the Cox Mill PTO, who brought our Panther pride to life with an amazing Spirit Rock design. 🐾🎨

And, of course, THANK YOU to everyone who voted and cheered us on! Your support helped put Cox Mill on top, and we couldn’t be more proud of our Comet community! ☄️💙

We can’t wait to celebrate this incredible accomplishment as our school is recognized during the Carolina Panthers home opener on September 13! 🏈🐾

We are excited to recognize Mrs. Dagenhart, Art Teacher, as our Comet of the Month!

Mrs. Dagenhart is an incredible art teacher who has made a lasting impression on her students and families at Cox Mill Elementary. For years, she has inspired students through her creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication to making art an exciting part of their school experience.

Families have shared how impressed they are by the knowledge and skills their children gain in her classroom, from learning art terminology to developing their own creative techniques. Mrs. Dagenhart brings an upbeat attitude and fun, welcoming energy to every lesson, while creating projects that students genuinely enjoy and look forward to.

She has a special talent for making art engaging, memorable, and accessible to every student. Her ability to combine learning with creativity and fun makes her classroom a place where students can explore their imagination while building confidence and a true appreciation for art.

Mrs. Dagenhart is truly a Cox Mill Star and so deserving of this recognition! We are grateful for the creativity, enthusiasm, and joy she brings to her students each day. Congratulations, Mrs. Dagenhart! 💫

WE’RE IN THE FINAL FOUR! 🐾

Cox Mill Comets, our Spirit Rock has been selected as one of the four finalists in the Carolina Panthers Spirit Rocks! Art Contest — and now we need your help to bring home the win!

Voting is open now through Thursday, September 10, and there is NO LIMIT on how many times you can vote.
