This week, Cannon’s Lower School hosted its first-ever Career Day, an event imagined and led by fourth grade student and Lower School Student Council President Nina Morrell ’34. From bakers and farmers to chefs, chemists, and authors, students explored inspiring career paths through hands-on experiences and conversations.

Just days before graduation, our seniors gathered with family, faculty, and staff for the annual Senior Breakfast at the Speedway Club.
Members of the Class of 2026 reflected on the memories they’ve made, the bonds that will last far beyond Cannon, and the gratitude they hold for the teachers and parents who supported them every step of the way. Here’s to the moments, the milestones, and the friendships that will always connect this class and their families.

After 18 remarkable years at Cannon, this week we celebrated Head of Upper School Fabio Hurtado and his wife, Teresita Hurtado, as they prepare for their next chapter in Ohio.
Faculty and friends gathered for an evening filled with heartfelt tributes, laughter, salsa music, and plenty of Cuban flair, a fitting celebration for two people who have brought so much joy, leadership, and hard work to our Upper School community.
The Hurtados’ impact on Cannon will be felt for years to come, and while we will miss them greatly, we are excited for all that lies ahead. Safe travels this summer, Fabio and Teresita—Cannon will always be grateful for you both.
