From white water rafting and cheer stunts to coding creations and artistic masterpieces, there’s never a dull moment at Camp Cannon. We can’t wait to see what new skills, friendships, and adventures are next!

Happy to the one and only Calvin Cougar, a pillar of the Cannon community and, without question, the friendliest predator you’ll ever meet.

For J’Ericson Newby ’27, a lifelong love of music has led to extraordinary opportunities, from performing as a young soloist to earning honors with some of North Carolina’s most accomplished ensembles. Along the way, he has also become a leader, mentor, and source of encouragement for fellow students.

A look back at one of our favorite end-of-year traditions: the Eighth Grade Awards Ceremony.

The event honored members of the Class of 2030 for outstanding achievement across academics, the arts, world languages, and Cannon’s core values. More importantly, it celebrated the scholarship, creativity, and character that define this remarkable class.

Camp Cannon is officially underway! We were delighted to welcome campers to campus today for a summer filled with exploration, creativity, and discovery.

From sports and ceramics to culinary creations, there is something for every curious mind. Here’s to new friendships, lasting experiences, and a summer truly elevated!

Investing in great teachers creates extraordinary learning opportunities.

Congratulations to Cannon educators Arianna Sherrill and Annalee Taylor, recipients of donor-funded awards that will support international learning experiences.

Arianna, recipient of the inaugural Helfrich Catalyst Fellowship, will travel to Peru to explore the rich history of the Inca and pre-Inca civilizations firsthand, bringing new perspectives and real-world experiences back to her sixth grade social studies classroom.

Annalee, recipient of the Kimbrough Award, will travel to Finland to study one of the world’s most respected educational systems, gaining insights into student well-being, school culture, and community-building practices that can inform and strengthen learning at Cannon.

Through these opportunities, they’ll gain firsthand insights and global perspectives to bring back to their classrooms, enriching the experience of Cannon students for years to come. We’re grateful to the Helfrich and Kimbrough families whose support makes professional growth and innovation possible for our faculty.

Held the evening before Commencement, Senior Night celebrated the connection, community, and lasting memories the Class of 2026 built throughout their time at Cannon School.

The evening honored students for their outstanding achievements in academics, arts, athletics, character, and leadership, as well as their unwavering care and commitment to the Cannon community and one another.
