As a one day a week program, we seek to partner with homeschool families by providing classical instruction and parent training through a catechetical model that serves both church and family. Ignatius Academy is Orthodox Christian in belief and practice and welcomes students of all traditions. Our mission is to guide students toward discernment of truth, that they may fulfill their purpose as God-bearers in responsibility to God, the Church, and all creation as we strive communally toward becoming like Christ. We seek to learn in a manner that cultivates wonder and love for the good, true, and beautiful and reveals God’s work in the cosmos since the beginning of time through an integrated, harmonious, and respectful approach to all disciplines.

Three years ago, Allison and Larissa came together over a shared vision for an orthodox school in their beloved town and founded St. Ignatius Academy.

It has been a truly beautiful, (wonder)ful and life giving adventure.

However, we recently came to the tough decision that SIA will be pausing and we will not be meeting this year as originally planned. Though our hope and intention is that SIA will return, we know that the right decision for now is to pause the little school we love, and with heavy hearts we recognize that the students in that place and that time won’t meet again… but then.. isn’t that the bittersweet ending to every school year?

For now, we are thrilled to tell you about Preserve Classical Forest School.

In order to serve the greater Concord area, reach more ages, and provide more flexibility to our families, Larissa and Renee Bach, with Allison’s support are forming a classical forest school that seeks to form the whole student by combining outdoor experience with classical education.

Our hope is that, rather than close the door on our current families for next year, this change opens our doors to more people; we hope that in this way, St. Ignatius will be just as alive as it was this year.
